I don't say the price of the gti is necessarily warranted, however I think wrapping VW over the knuckles is very short sighted. I can think of other hatchbacks (with appalling interior quality) for 200k more! And then many Chinese cars are in the 400k region. Then I'll far rather pay the price tag for my vw. Just yesterday my vw went in for its service and on my way back home I felt appreciative of the fact that my car is still in good hands.

I agree 100% for something that is made locally - that is INSANE!

Excellent review. We all know car prices are insane, but if we being honest, VW is milking it. Even a new VW Polo Life is expensive, if you spec it to the max, you looking at R485k. I am and will always be a huge VW fan but next week I am taking delivery of my soon to be Toyota Corolla hatchback.

That 3 year 45000km service plan is a biiig problem for me on a +R500k car.

I'm just here to advise people not to purchase this car at the exorbitant prices currently being asked due to scarcity. Instead, be patient, wait a few months while VW makes your car and pay what should be paid. Its absolute trash that all these used car dealerships bought them early and now wanna sell for a serious premium. Let's not support that level of BS consumption and show them that they need us more than we need them.

I agree 100% I think its us the customers that are ripped off in the name of latest version BS.....I have seen how consumer protection is being applied in EU and Australia when it comes to these exorbitant car prices

0 to 60 is 6.5 secs and not 6.7 Tartan seats are better. The handlings amazing. If your in sports mode it's always better to put it in manual rather than keeping it in auto🤷♂️ Better car than is described in this video

The car for the South African market does not get the new 7 speed DSG box, or the engine mods. Related to the poor quality fuel in SA. Hence why the 0-60 for the car sold in South Africa is quoted as 6.7 seconds.
