I'd rather get that so called "poverty spec" screen display as it turns that passenger screen area into the trim material (wood, metal mesh, etc) you select. Way better than a slab of gloss black glare and digital stuff killing your eyes.

One correction regarding the passenger screen: When the car detects the driver looking at the passenger screen, it DOES NOT turn off. It remains on, but only the passenger can continue to see the screen. It blocks the driver's view by making the screen black.

I’m kind of confused as to why manufacturers are still persisting in having pretend exhausts. I don’t think the majority of people are likely to notice a car that doesn’t have what ‘appear’ to be exhaust tips. And I don’t know that most people are likely to care.

Yes depreciation will be eye watering, but probably not as bad as many cars with this price tag. The Estate/Wagon version will be in high demand (and looks far better) so will hold its price. On the plus side a 3-5 year old one will be like new and be quite a bargain. Repair bills? What repair bills? I had a 2014 100k mile c class and now have 93k mile e class and neither had any repairs, not one single part on them apart from the C had a £30 suspension arm at 97k.

The W223 is $110,000+ It’s way too expensive and most people don’t need a car that size. This new E class truly feels like they’ve perfected the E-class and made it an “s class”. The C class has been perfected and that now feels like a “baby S-class”.

Its true for all luxury brands that the quality of materials and build get better as the cars get bigger. I want to take a moment to address the title of this video. While the car being presented here is undoubtedly impressive, I believe it's crucial for us to use respectful and inclusive language. The term "nerd" should never be used as an insult or a way to belittle someone's intelligence or to socially isolate. Intelligence is a wonderful trait that should be celebrated, not mocked. People with a passion for knowledge and a thirst for understanding contribute immensely to our society. Let's focus on discussing the fantastic features of this executive car without resorting to offensive language. After all, intelligence and style go hand in hand, and this video should reflect that synergy.

not a fan either, maybe I'm just getting old but I just prefer quality switches and a key/fob and proper door handles. The glass in that cockpit, must be a nightmare to keep shiny! The mercedes logo being plastered all over it, really ? But nice to see a proper star back on the bonnet of the non amg. Spent some proper time with it recently (estate version). It’s honestly brilliant. The design is a success, the interior is significantly refined compared to EQE, new S-class, GLC etc with less cheap feeling parts and the right amount of tech/screen. Doesn’t have the seats of the s-class but feels more solid inside. Hybrid powertrain is brilliant, so smooth and so seamless. Long EV range, charges fast. 4D audio system is brilliant. The 3D driver’s cluster is awesome, such a wow factor. Only real downsides are price (get’s massively expensive fast as you spec it up, almost porsche level!) and the loss of boot space with the hybrid.

Other than rear wheels tearing, the prior w213 did everything this does. The only new tech and design are gimmicks. No substance. The old model also had more architecture in the interior. As a current e-coupe owner, I think this is the best new MB model but not an upgrade in most regards. The new CLE is off the table because of the cheap C class interior. As such, I think the only viable option is this without the super screen to retain some decor.

I do like it but I hope is not just new tech that’s been added but rather better driving dynamics, and reliability.

Driving dynamics as in sporty and responsive driving are worse than last gen as every review says. With this generation mercedes went fully on luxury. Wich makes sense, given thats where mercedes main strength lies.

Used to love the proper Mercs of the 80s and 90s with the three pointed star at the end of the bonnet, they had a very Germanic design about them. These days they look soft, boring and like a bar of soap.
