Things you should know before lifting your truck and offsetting the wheels : 1.- Dynamics of the car gets worst, higher center of gravity. 2.- Gas consumption gets worst. 3.- Riding quality gets worst. 4.- Heavy erosion on your fenders and every single surface the wheels are projecting debris to.

It’s really easy to bring your stock MPG back after lift, I first hand have done and owned it. 2004 FX4 crew cab with 5.4 V8. Ran 325/65r18 N 325/60r18 tires with 3.73, mpg sucked. I regeared it to 4.10 (I wished I went with 4.56 personally). Changed air intake to Air Raid Ram, tuned with Bank Power (I’d suggest to take it to your independent tuning shop to set your ECM to do much better than any programmer if you’re not worried about warrant). Since you’re running 35” tires, I highly recommend regearing it to 4.56, you’d be much happier with it and get some MPG back. My average highway cruising was 18 mpg, city 15, tow 27ft RV, 6,000 lbs boat, etc etc.

Seems like it also takes away from off roading capabilities, at least on trails and forest areas. Kind of seems weird to have such a capable truck (I assume it’s 4wd) and being full size, it’s already super wide and difficult to take 4 wheeling, but now you just made it even worse. Also, why the freak does someone have to drive so far to get wheels and a lift done? Good info there. I have a '14 4x4 with the naturally aspirated 3.7 V-6 and a factory prepped bi-fuel CNG conversion kit, 3.73 rear axle. 265 70 17 stock wheels. The two fuel tanks hold about 55 gallons combined. I love the truck and before I did a couple of minor mods was getting 21 mpg. I did a 1.5" front lift and added some coils over the rear axles for haul capacity. I'd like to add bigger tires, maybe about 32". I did note a bit more wind resistance with the front end hike and a loss of maybe 2 mpg. But, I like the look much better, as the stock rake isn't as nice looking, though the truck handled fine in stock mode. So, if I get a little taller, meatier tires will I lose more mpg? I'm thinking so. But, ya know, with the natural gas, which I can fuel up at home cheaply, mpg isn't that big of a deal. If we want a cheap ride I guess we'd drive a Nissan Leaf or Chevy Bolt. Maybe for my second car. Thanks for the honest videos. Reality is a good thing. Your comments are most welcome and appreciated.

Mike, Do you still have the factory calibration on your speedometer? If so, your not really getting an accurate MPG reading. Your truck is actually covering more miles than the computer is aware of (due to the larger circumference of the tires!) I’ve got a 2019 3.5 Eco and went from a 2” level on 33’s to a 4” BDS on 35’s and only lost about 1 MPG. Mike my 13 F150 5.0 got 17 mpg going out to Colorado from Michigan. I have a 4 inch lift kit now running on toyo AT3s 325/65 18r so 34 and a half inches tall by 13 inches wide. I get 12 to 13 mpg now. Just thought I’d share because how similar our trucks are performing.

I wonder, does that extra width make yours about the same width of the wheelbase as in the new Ford F150 Raptor? I think the Raptor is about 5"'s wider in total than the off the shelf Platinum if I remember correctly. I do not know if the interior cabin of the Raptor is any wider than the interior cabin of the Platinum.
