Autumn backpacking - Loch Monar - with the Luxe Hexpeak V4a

2 nights and 2 days walking and backpacking around the hills at Loch Monar in the north of Scotland. I talk about the kit I take to suit the conditions and time of year. The route took in the 6 munros in a 51km route with 3500m ascent.

Stunning inversion Gordon😎. Makes battering thru the clag worthwhile. Big trip for that time of the year. Can't argue with those conditions. I've still do aw they Hills. Always good to see what gear folk take. I've had the Montane Prism for years. Great jacket. Big porch space in your tent.

It was indeed. Long day in the cloud but worth it when I popped up. I’d recommend this route round the 6 I think. Especially in fairer conditions when you could break it more evenly with a high camp. Yep the hexpeak with one person has a huge porch which is good at this time of year. Gordon

What a cracking inversion Gordon! If only you had a drone this would have been an ideal opportunity. When you are wearing your trail runners do you wear gortex socks plus liner socks? What make are your gortex socks? Cheers Paul

It was amazing paul. Yep a drone would be ideal: something for the future when I’m less worried about weight saving!! I wear a single merino liner under the GoreTex socks. It works really well. They did leak slightly on this trip but still better than soaking feet for two days. It’s the eBay motorcycle ones. Check out ben @outdoor intrigues video on them. That’s who put me onto it. I’ve worn them a fair bit but am still really testing them. Gordon
