Don't forget that when dumping fuel you can set your 'Bingo' level to 2800 (or whatever other figure you want) on the fuel panel and then turn on your dump switches. It will automatically turn off the fuel dump at 2800 (or whatever level you have set). Another thing less to have to think about!

I was talking to a Fleet Air Air WSO recently. He was saying that in the RAF & FAA it was considered that you had basically failed at some point as pilot if you hadn’t flown Harrier off a carrier. :)

I was stationed on the Boxer. Similar to this ship. This ships designation number tells me it’s the LHD Wasp. The takeoff and landing, while not entirely wrong, is kinda wrong, those ‘cross thingys’ is where takeoff and landing usually happen. Especially with landing, helicopters and harriers come in at an angle...straighten out....and then land. I’ve never seen an aircraft take off from the middle like that or come in for a landing from the back like that. Always from the side and always from those... white markers to the left. Watch some real life video of harriers and 53’s talking off and landing on any of the LHD boats. I served on the LHD Boxer for 6 months working on CH-53E helicopters. I was part of HMH-465 based out of San Diego. My deployment on the Boxer was in 2003. I was on the flight deck in the Persian Gulf on the night we bombed Baghdad. Got to see the misses take off from the other boats. Surreal experience. That’s how I know this lol. Plus, it would be waaaay too risky to land or takeoff that close to the island. Try to take off and land to see how close you can get. See if you can do what real life pilots do on these boats. Super challenging!!

I set the STO Stop at 83 degrees for moving carrier, or 81 degrees for static / land airport. Not mandatory but it helps me a bit.

One thing that would be very helpful, is turning on your instrument lights. Very dark in the cockpit. Good video, even it wasn't exactly like the real thing. Guys, come on now, it is only a game. Well done.

I think NATOPS says 800ft 350kts from initial, same as CVN. On downwind 600ft. Or am I missing something ? Anyway nice work on all your video’s. It’s a great reference.

The harrier is very easy to land with no elegance, hard to correctly land. I think it only takes patience and time because the vertical speed is the hardest thing to control in normal landings but with this plane looks like a joke.

The water issue with the Harrier was new to me....I like the plane...but its really a mess when it needs a quarter ton of water to keep it VTOL...

Can't speak for real life but I've flown both quite alot in-game (Harrier and f-14) and the harrier is definitely easier, maybe because I'm mainly a helo guy, idk.
