You could have the next best dcs channel if you do some regular vids here and there. The shorts are cool but it’s harder to learn with them. All around professional video!

For a long time, there was a widely published instruction about being about to "force lock" by pressing the TDC down (action) button. This used to work for me in the past but now pressing that same button sends the maverick seeker way off target into never never land. You don't even mention it in this video so I suspect something has changed and you can now reliably get a lock just by putting the crosshairs over the target and waiting for the maverick to lock on its own.

I do believe there is an override that acts as you mentioned, but now it locked the center of the heat source for the missile to track. There are some videos in our CAS playlist that demonstrate this! Thanks for watching!

Oof, this was a decent tutorial for IRMAV usage - not DMT. At no point was the DMT used in this tutorial. The DMT is a "built-in targeting pod" in the nose of the Harrier that you can use to designate targets and then slave other sensors (mavericks) to that target. Instead, you used the NAVFLIR which is another sensor in the nose of the harrier that also isn't needed for the IRMAV's. The NAVFLIR does help put the heat carets on the hud, but you don't need to Sensor Select Right to bring it up on the MFD, just turn the system on with the FLIR switch. 1. AG Master Mode and Master Arm On 2. Select IRMV from the STRS page 3. Weapon Cage/Uncage 4. Slew to target, wait for lock, fire.

Thank you for teaching us! With chucks guide, and a little trial and error, I've been able to fly the Harrier. I didn't know the DMT and the NAVFLIR were separate sensors! I thought it was filtered by the same sensor, which, in my mind, had multiple sensors attached, but now I see it's a separate integrated sensor. Thank you! For the NAVFLIR, Hollywood was having trouble with identifying targets to hit. In a previous short, we discussed how the NAVFLIR can help you spot heat signatures off the nose. He wanted to learn how I could shoot the maverick so quickly at so many targets. Regarding the sensor select right, I will stop doing that! What a pain I was making it! I learned how to fly this bad girl in 2019, before lots of updates and add-ons. I believe I was doing the sensor thing because that's how it worked way back when. Razbam has worked on the Harrier since its release. She has changed significantly, for the better, since her debut in DCS! Thanks again for letting us know! there are so many complicated things in this game, and some details get overlooked! I appreciate the KNOWLEDGE :D

The flurry of updates the Harrier has gone through has made it very difficult to determine the "current" & "correct" relationship between the tpod/dmt/navflir/mavs and how they work together. (Quotes because it may change in the next update, who knows?!) Please keep up the good work!

Also last question, is there a specific maverick that works or do all 3 work with the DMT hud?

There are 2 types of mavericks, laser maverick require a LSS (Laser Spot Search) function so you need a TGP or a buddy to laze a target for you. The Maverick F is an infrared maverick and can be used with the DMT seamlessly!

Hi @paavialli Sorry for the super late reply, I’m just seeing this right now. To change the FOV on the weapons or T-Pod, it is simply the nose wheel steering button. It has 3 functions in the harrier! Thank you for watching, friend!
