Hello Jamie, Thanks for this series. I'm really enjoying it and grateful to have backed the game. From what I can see, I really like it 😍. Maybe I missed it, but in your example, you have not resolved the effects of your battle plans, right? - At which point are they resolved? Before calculating the final result of the battle? You said they can also change the outcome and shift some units around etc. KR, Basti

The deep dive videos are the reason I backed the game. Great insights. I am just surprised that there is no difference between drawing cards and rolling a D3. Couldn't the red cards have a different spread of numbers (because they can't be played in the preparation phase)? Why not have a 4, or just higher numbers in general so if you spend them for mythical beasts, you have less of them for the war phase?

If you watch some other reviewers the earlier prototype they were sent used the larger numbers you mentioned. I believe they made the change to lower numbers to make battle feel less random and swingy

Were the costs removed from all the battle plan cards?

Good eye, yes this has been replaced with the bonus cards. These are effectively an extra cost but is more variable than the hard printed cost. It lets the players decide more on how much to spend on each battle, gaining +1 str for each extra card they commit

@jamiejolly6250 i think I prefer it this way. I imagined the first iteration being a bit fiddly needing to grab back the cards you discarded for the battle plan costs when you lose the battle. This way players do not need to retrieve anything from the discard. I like the change
