"Reckon we'll have any deaths?" immediately after last episode where we find dead Monk Gyatso surrounded by the bodies of 20 firebenders he took down with him. -_-

Well, we didn't see him die...

Book I is very episodic and "kid-oriented", with a focus on world-building and character development. There are a few key episodes coming up that raise the stakes significantly, and then things really ramp up at the end of Book I and into Book II. It only gets better. Your patience will be well-rewarded. Trust me.

Also I was waiting for the the foaming at the mouth meme 😂

Foaming-at-the-Mouth Guy was voiced by Bryan Konietzko, one of the show's creators. :D

@@TheMovieJourney Awesome, thanks! Glad you guys are picking up on the humor of the show, the little jokes and gags are one of several great things about the show in my opinion. Starting from Zuko describing Aang as "quite agile for his old age" in episode 1 and everything else that follows after that (not to spoil anything), you're definitely gonna love the rest of the series.

Keep two things in mind, taking water from people? and maybe a characters death?

This was the first time Anime really broke through into the Mainstream. It’s always been for kids but they leaned into that unlike those “others”

Wouldn't consider this anime since it's 100% an American cartoon made by Nickelodeon. If ATLA is anime, then so are the Simpsons, Spongebob, and Teen Titans.
@gogousa66618 ай бұрын
@@sub4rctic Wow that’s kinda racist and messed up. There are 100’s Anime’s less popular than Avatar. It’s the show that sparked interest in getting Anime out of obscurity

Don't worry it gets less episodic the more it goes on. Even the smallest details in these early episodes are important and so worth it

The first season is a little repetitive at first because it's world building, once the different locations and side characters are established the plot really picks up more. By the season 1 finale the story has become more of a continuous story rather than episodic

It's been a lot longer than a couple days. The show just skips a a few days between most episodes in order to reach the next destination. By this point it's probably been a week and a half at least in the show There's a little over 60 episodes and the show takes place over 6 months, so each episode will cover an average of 3 days in the time line (not an effect science, obviously it's a little more than that since several episodes are 2 parters and happen immediately after each other like episodes 1 and 2)

Closer to a year than 6 months.

Water bending is pretty neat, there are a couple books out about Avatar Kyoshi that are geared towards a slightly older audience than this show and she had some very creative uses for the water inside of a body.

The series only becomes better the longer you watch. Season 2 and 3 have more off a coherent story compared to season 1 that's more off an introduction to the characters and the world. I feel like episode 12 is the one were you either fall in love with the show or realise it isn't for you and the storytelling also becomes much stronger from that point forward.
