I like how Aang worked together with the spirit of the ocean. Even though he was in the avatar state, I think even in that state he would not be able to waterbend because of lack of moon, so with the aid of the spirit of the ocean Aang was the only waterbender in the world, for a few minutes.

Not really. Because that would make the spirit invincible, just like Lord Voldemort. Since apart of Lord Voldemort's soul is split, it meant he himself could not be killed until all the parts of his soul were destroyed/killed. Apart of the spirit's soul WAS split, LIKE a Horcrux, but that doesn't mean it was basically a Horcrux, since the spirit was still able to be easily killed...

The Avatar is the bridge between not just the nations but the physical and spiritual world. While the Avatar State definitely played a part in what Aang was able to do the giant fish monster was due to his partnering with the Ocean Spirt. Essentially as the Avatar Aang can be a conduit for spirits and their energy in some capacity like that and God it was amazing.

I've always viewed it as the Ocean Spirit forced Aang into the avatar state and co-opted the avatar's power and authority to allow it to get revenge on the fire navy. This way the Ocean Spirit did not break the rules that forbid spirits from affecting humans and visa verse. He got the admiral after releasing Aang as the admiral was free game for striking first.

Klaus McCollum miles more than season 3. Season 2 is just an entire season of character development and the way they use certain events throughout the season (something involving a desert. I don't want to say spoilers) really made me care more about the characters and story more. Also Azula is by far the best villain of the show and she definitely shines more in season 2 than 3.

Shika, let's be honest here.....the fact they didnt capitalize and make a long-standing saga out of Avatar is probably a good thing. Nick is arguably the worst of the three big name animation channels now, and this is around the time their downward slope began. If they did make it into that, they may have forced it to persist long after the writers wished to stop, thus running it into the ground or, god forbid, making it a series based solely on selling new merchandise, thus making episodes to shoehorn in each new product.

There’s a theory that Yue was actually supposed to be the avatar after Aang since the next avatar would be born from within a water tribe and would be a water bender. But because Aang stayed frozen for 100 years the cycle was disrupted and that’s why Yue was practically born dead. Because there was no avatar spirit to be born into her and give her life. That’s why the moon spirit gave her a bit of its own and it kind of circles back to how the war raged on because Aang wasn’t there to prevent it, but everything works out the way it was meant to be regardless since the admiral was going to destroy the moon spirit and Yue was there to bring back that balance (very similar to how Aang’s duty is to being balance as the avatar). Yue herself became a bridge between mortal and spirit and still somewhat fulfilled an avatar-like destiny.

consider the following opinion: when the moon was killed all waterbenders completely lost their ability to bend, which includes the avatar. The only means by which he could have done the crazy koi fish god thing was directly with the help of the ocean spirit to give him the ability to waterbend without the moon. Book 1 peaked my interest. Book 2 wrapped me, and kept me captivated. It's incredible. Book 3 had me emotional in a way I wasn't expecting. You four are at a perfect place right now (though I know Calvin's seen it already). You're interested enough to keep going, and invested enough in the story to see what happens next, but I love how you go into the reactions blindly. You're not even ready for what Book 2 has to offer. So excited for you to meet the new characters, and delve even more into the story. If you loved the lore, the backstories, learning about past avatars, you are going to LOVE books 2 and 3. Two of my favorite characters are introduced, and one of my die hard favorite scenes is in book 2, alone. I'm excited for you all. Can't wait till it's over and you look back on the series.
