That is amazing. This show just shows the best kind of animal treatment and love. You can just see it in the way they treat Appa and Momo. They are part of the family and that's how it should be with animals in real life too. I hate people who have dogs or cats just to have them. It shouldn't be like that. Animals should be treated with love not just used as props.

What's really hard to watch in this episode, beyond the overall abuse Appa has to take, is his entire loving, trusting personality being torn apart. Up until he gets kidnapped by the Sandbenders, he's fluffy, lovable and welcoming (though he still fights obviously), but you can tell he grows super paranoid during this episode, for obvious reasons. That's what makes it so sad, sadder maybe, in a way, than even Iroh's story. Iroh is a human, he may be sad and mourning, but he's smart enough to understand and move beyond his pain. Appa, on the other hand, is completely innocent and doesn't really understand what's going on, and this episode is all about tearing that innocence to shreds.
@ryanakers13728 жыл бұрын
Wolf6120 That innocence of Appa hit me hardest when Suki was waving the fire to scare him away. I know why she did it, but the pain and confusion in Appa`s eyes always hits the feels.

Rew Rose it’s because he was raised to protect those he loves. He loves the Kyoshi warriors (especially Suki) so he wanted to help them fight off Azula, but Suki wanted him to get out before he was injured or stolen again. So he was extremely confused/hurt basically.

Yeah, it seems weird that they seem fine with cheering for Darth Vader and Reverse Flash when they're effective as villains but seem put off/'meh' by Azula's group doing similar things. And, Fake Account, I don't think your comparison really works (Darth Vader didn't have that past or depth in episode New Hope or Empire before the Reveal and did a ton of evil stuff. People still thought he was a badass.)
@erzan8 жыл бұрын
Fake Account There was no real backstory on Darth Vader until the Prequels. People like me only know of his tragic downfall on screen because I've grown up watching the prequels first as a kid and then went 'back' (really forward lol) to watching the old films. From just episode 4 and 5 Vader is a dick. He lacks empathy, good morals and just want's to enact the Emperor's plan. Like Azula. Ozai is the Emperor. Obviously I rather not put spoilers on this show, since I've seen it already.

I don't understand how anyone can be a fan of Azula. She isn't misunderstood or traumatized. She was a crazy fucked up bitch from the earlier moments we see from her, even whe she was still a kid.
@sadz428 жыл бұрын
Nao Sou it's not a matter of liking her personality or what shes done, but more as "loving to hate her" or her character/development. Yeah, she's always been crazy, but to see her go completely unhinged and crazy Is really interesting
@lalalalisa418 жыл бұрын
Nao Sou I'll tell you why I'm a huge fan. For a princess, she can hold her own in a fight (she's not just a dainty princess), she's a master in the art of psychological warfare, a great tactician, she's actually threatening, and she has some epic one-liners and dialogue. I could go on. She's a villain that you just love to hate and she's an amazing and formidable villain for the protagonists, which only makes the story interesting. For me, she's a badass crazy fucked up bitch and I love it.
@Ardenithar8 жыл бұрын
Exactly Nao Sou, that is what I think every time someone says Azula is a good villain. She looked up to her father and she had his respect and her mother did love her, she was simply too stupid and moronic to see it. That doesn't make it a good villain, it just makes her psychotic. I won't go into much more detail as to why since it is a spoiler for later on in the series, but I am glad to see someone that agrees with me.

See I thought that it got uploaded on another site like vimeo or something and the link to it got posted on Patreon. I thought it was weird how many views it already had. Great episode though, already looking forward to the next one.

The only thing wrong with this episode who probably no one found was that Azula was still chasing Appa/Aang while she should have been at Ba sing se in the drill.
