Hi guys! Sorry for the long wait since our last video. As you can tell, I'm super pregnant (we were lucky to get this video finished without me going into labor!) but we really wanted to film something for you before the baby came. Ave Maria is another piece we perform a lot at weddings, and just like Pachelbel's Canon it works really beautifully on cello and piano. As always, if you'd like to play this one yourself, our arrangement is available from Musicnotes (bit.ly/3bMSzpY). It's also up on Spotify so you can add it to your wedding playlists! 😊

oh! You haven't had your baby yet! How exciting to finally be so close! I've had four boys and one girl, all grown and on their own now. It's an adventure, for sure! All the best. You both play so beautifully. I 'm enjoying going through all the videos. Thank you! I just bought a cello and am learning to play.....at 63 years old! I won't likely live long enough to get super good at it, but I'm enjoying the journey.

I hope all three parties involved, mom, dad, and baby, realized this is no accident. This is poetry in motion! Patrick looking at his pregnant wife stroking the keys with such elegance while he lays out the solo in unfathomable language is solemn! I ABSOLUTELY ADORE YOUR GORGEOUS MUSIC, SO VERY MUCH!!! I just discovered you two, quite by accident!!! I am so very thankful, that I did.You BOTH are OUTSTANDING MUSICIANS!!! Thank you, for ALL that you do through your MUSIC & Wonderful & Exciting personalities!! Much Admiration & cheers from Sherry Todd, in southern Ontario, Canada!!! I played the violin, many yrs ago, in our schools FREE music program, grades 7 & 8. We had 1st & 2nd Violins, Violas, Cellos & Bass violins. Man, I Loved it so Very much, but unfortunately, I had to stop do it NOT being offered in high school & to my families financial status. I went on to a very rewarding Nursing career, for over 30 yrs. But oh, how I MISSED my Violin & the other Strings!!! God Bless you both & your Adorable Family!

Beautiful! When I was in High School I sang in a multi-church choir and in one of our concerts a man sang Ave Maria. He was and older black man who had a rich, gravelly, "whiskey bass" voice (although in his case I'm pretty sure it was gin - I sat next to him in the choir). Even in rehearsal it was hard for me to hear it without being deeply moved. Your performance here is of that same depth. Over 40 years have gone by and my mind can still play that wonderful music for me. May your music be blessing others 40 years from now.

As a cellist who has often played this piece for weddings and funerals, let me say this recording is simply gorgeous. For some reason, the sheet music I learned it on is transposed into D. In this recording, keeping it in the original Bb allows for beautiful contrast -- the first part is kept entirely on the D string for a gorgeous sound, and then the second time through it is played in the upper octave, for a completely different but equally beautiful sense of the music. What struck me most is how it is truly played like a prayer. Thank you for sharing!

This is a lovely version of Ave Maria. I am more familiar with this piece than I would like to be. When I was a music major in college, I earned credits towards my degree by accompanying voice majors on the piano during their lessons. One of the male voice students (a tenor) was practicing this piece for his senior recital and I was the accompanist who was assigned to work with him. Since he was singing, I had to play Ave Maria somewhat faster than Brooklyn Duo plays it so the voice major wouldn't run out of air and get out of breath. No we didn't have any cello players who were working on Ave Maria (unfortunately).

@lucasqin71204 жыл бұрын
they have too much time to flirt around after their performance lol
@kristieroybal48884 жыл бұрын
Yes - they don't FLIRT with each other, they make eye contact often and lovingly, and the connection between them plays a part in how much I love the beautiful music they make together. I have complained multiple times that Hauser needs to wash his hair, quit breathing loudly during performances, stop doing pervy weird things with his mouth and lips, stop moving his feet and legs all over like he has to go potty, and put some damned shoes on! Even just socks are ok - but to see a man formally dressed in a suit out in the wilderness with nothing on his feet - it's all so distracting! And his ego constantly upstages his music. The Brooklyn Duo is a class act without being pretentious. And they are so dependable with the integrity and quality that they bring to everything they produce together, on their own, or with other musicians. They create profound beauty. And on a lighter note, they each have a quirky little habit that is so endearing. They are the real deal, in great detail, and I look forward to every performance.
