Exactly the same setup as me, tho a little advice, get an IR plant/lizard lamp and put it above the work and turn on when you finished painting... As with the heater fan, it helps with curing the paint and preventing flow if you overdo it a little bit, but that should not happen either way...

also, did i just spot a silicate contamination in the lower left quadrant of the bonnet? Because from whichever angle you went about it, and to me it seems you spotted it too and tried to get it outta focus exactly by angling away, but i had my fair share of work revealing primer in that form of a white spot so i think i spotted the fly in the ointment there... That spot in the middle down the bonnet seems like a dust feather, unlike that white eye lookin at me from beneath the clear...

Dude. Please never stop making videos. I just discovered your channel and every single one I've looked at is something I've done in the past and had trouble finding good information on, or something I'm looking to do in the future, and you do such excellent/thorough work. Thank you so much for your content, definite subscription from me.

I think You need to set up the fan somewhere in the top next time, not in the bottom, it should pull all of the particles from bottom to top.

Not bad, from my experience it’s not the gun that gives you the good finish it’s the quality of paint. If you try it again try using Sikkens paint next time it’s very forgiving to the beginner and levels awesome. Looks good though 👍

Almost the same setup I've been using for almost a 1/2 year now. A few things can be improved there.

Nice, I'm all ears if you have suggestions on how to improve it.

@@VehicularDIY I should probably make a video of my setup, to share some experience. One thing is, I ran a flexible 12" duct off box fan to outside of my garage. Also have a 40"x20" air filter as "intake" for the fresh air to flow into my enclosure.

Looking to do this conversion. I have all of the panels but dont know where to start with paint. Can you make and recommendations for what brands you used?
@VehicularDIY5 жыл бұрын
I ended up using PPG paint, it was their mid grade product line. Similar to what your average commercial body shop would use.

Nice video - and great results. Can you give some more detail on the actual paint that was used? What reducer/hardener were used for the clear? And was it a PPG base? Cost of the paint?

if you decide to watersand it you definitely have to wait a few weeks to let the clear coat to dry.

I love your videos, but an HVLP is High Volume (not Velocity) Low Pressure. Your 4 cfm rated gun is more like an LVLP.
