I'd like to see the midi patterns within scaler as well.... like being able to bring in audio, have it analyzed and be able to have the chords in their original duration, instead of just being triggered or laid out with each note being the same length. Kinda like a mix of Ezkeys and decoda.

Studio One and Melodyne 5 is butter for chord detection, and more. I do hip hop/rnb. Not a piano player, but learned basic theory/playing chords in school. I would recommend learning basic/chords. Sprinkle that in with using scaler, programming via the mouse etc. When you are doing tracks for videos or at a studio what are you going to do when you don't have access to loops or scaler?

I wouldn't call that real feeling. Maybe I'm just too old school, but this seems to me like auto tune for people who want to imagine themselves as keyboard artists, or like online sex, where one can see it and hear it, but only imagine how it actually feels. It cannot replace the fun and accomplishment, both physical and spiritual, out of actually learning to play an instrument, and will make every user sound like every other user. To paraphrase the animated character Syndrome, "I'll sell my inventions, everyone can be super, and when everyone's super, no one will be."
@brianbatie66504 жыл бұрын
@TehFinalBrick I get what you're saying, but how can one make music without understanding the nuances? It is the nuance that makes it music, the little spontaneous quirks, mistakes, and other non-uniformities peculiar to each performer, the choice of note sequences chords and sounds from a performance as musicians react and interact with each other and the listener, the sum total of unique attributes that enables you to tell the difference between say Clifford Brown and Freddie Hubbard, or Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson. Maybe in these modern times, clipping someone elses' nuances, reordering them, then claiming to make music is now valid because it can generate money, but it is for me a bit of a stretch. Again, maybe I'm just old.

Understand the sentiment but...... Years ago I used session musicians for drums and a strings part, I played guitar and piano. Was it expected that I should be able to play the drums and string parts, no of course not. Many song writers are not profeciant enough players to play any of the parts on a proffessional track. Just my 2 cents.
