The reason it sounds like a Tim Burton musical is because Danny Elfman's old band, Oingo Boingo's keyboardist helped arranged the strings on this, it's based on the Oingo Boingo song "Nasty Habits".

Before my graduation in English class we had to choose a song, I chose Silence in the Snow by Trivium and people were so shocked out of their minds because of they pictured the imagery in the lyrics of a gruesome cold battle going terribly wrong, I gotten an A+ for it because my teacher really enjoyed the song. There was a girl that I used to like she was atonished by the song and the band, so she chose to listen to Trivium for me to remember our friendship since junior year, yes I was friendzoned but I respectfully was cool with it.

From what I understand this was Rev's creation. He wanted to do something "different". He got some push back but the band eventually gave in so that he could have a chance to Express himself artistically. My ex (6 years ago) said that I had the musical taste of a 17 year old boy (my kid was 17 at the time so it was taken very personal). My son and I connect musically and that would not change. So I broke up with the boyfriend the next day. Enter new boyfriend: I introduce this to him maybe a month or two into the relationship. It's seriously a test. He's very vanilla. He handled it as expected but well. I knew he was the one when he began singing the duet part with me ❤

It was embarrassing at the moment but hilarious to look back on.

I've always taken the lyrics as metaphor for relationships and how they work. Things are good, one fears losing it, then they do something that destroys it, thus hurting their love. Then they stick around in it and the other person hurts them to get back at them. Then they both agree that they love and want each other ,get married, and become toxic towards everybody else. Just how I view it though.

Man, seeing Sori go from bouncy/excited/smiling for the first part of the song, only for the confusion/disgust to kick in immediately after gave me just the laugh I needed after the day I've had. Something about genuine reactions like this just strikes me as so funny and enjoyable to watch. Also, just wanted to throw out there how much I appreciate the fact that you really focus on absorbing the music while it's playing, and that you don't just act out a fake hyper characterized "reaction" without really paying too close attention ( a lot of reaction channels seem to do this, I've noticed). Not only that, you then spend the rest of the video discussing your enjoyment, interpreted meanings, etc. You put a lot of effort into your reactions instead of just throwing them out into the wind, and it definitely makes you stand out when looking at similar channels. You're doing it right and your content is highly enjoyable! I found you around 12k subs quite a while back, and have been enjoying your content ever since. Excited to watch you continue to grow during your journey! :)

Funny fact this was meant to be an Halloween ep but their record label liked it so much that it was put on an album.

you guys should react to pinkly smooth, its a side project band that the rev and syn were in around 2001-2002 and their music is kind of like this [but not violent like this, but fucking genius-ly weird] because the rev wrote pinkly smooth songs and of course this song. they actually asked him to write a song that was like his pinkly smooth stuff, thats where this song came from. i forgot to mention hes the vocalist in it too :)

A7X wrote this song to push the boundaries. It was originally written by Jimmy the "REV" and it just got bigger and bigger and more controversial. by the time they were almost done they were almost ready to scrap the song completely because they were not sure that the record label would release it The record label caught wind of it listen to the song Loved it and demanded it beyond the album. If you look up there is an actual video on the making of this song

Such a masterful song. Obviously not a song ur gonna listen to everyday or put on ur just chilling playlist but for what they are trying to accomplish with the song and the sound they we're aiming for (that creepy cartoony Tim Burton sound) they just nailed it perfectly

Welcome to the mind of the late jimmy “the Rev” Sullivan. A musical genius with the skill to back it all up, such a talented, creative and crazy man who could really speak with his songs and drums. I hope he enjoyed his brief time on this planet. R.I.P the Rev foREVer
