I give the most credit to Feige, but also the writer's/director of Iron Man and the first Avengers movie. The success of Iron man was the beginning, if that movie sucked there wouldn't be an MCU. After the Avengers was a huge success it was official.
@TheRealK63 жыл бұрын
@@Micheal93k Its a give and take on that - none of the standalone Hulk movies worked. If you go back to the line list of movies that Feige was producing - it includes the original Fantastic Four, Daredevil (yes the one with Ben Affleck) and Electra..... so you can't really say it was all him.... Theres no confirmation but we can probably blame all the falling out on them too, Terrence Howard(Payment disputes), Edward Norton("artistic disagreements"), Jon Favreau(not re-hired as director for Iron Man 3), Joss Whedon(quit after Avengers 2), Kenneth Branagh(not re-hired for Thor 2)

Plus he's a brawler. Thanos is more... precise in his style, hitting pressure points, etc. They'd be evenly matched (for awhile), if they had equal styles.
@MattG683 жыл бұрын
Yeah, with the Hulk, you have a tricky situation. But the writers had to immediately establish that Thanos is total bad-ass, and also show that you can't always rely on Hulk's brute strength for everything or there'd be no entertaining stories. It'd just be lazy story-writing to go "Hulk is the strongest creature in the universe and the more of a match you are for him, he just gets angrier in the fight and wins anyway..." They've really nerfed Hulk in the MCU for that reason, I think.

Is it clear that Hulk has that power in the MCU? He seemed to in the Bana movie, but I don’t think it carried over. There have been some scenes that you could interpret that way, but could also be interpreted as Hulk just fought harder because he was angrier, vs an actual power boost. I agree with the comments that the character was nerfed so the writers would have more freedom creatively.
@dongilleo97433 жыл бұрын
It was a masterful bit of storytelling. A good story needs a credible villain. In the first few minutes, Thanos has beaten Thor, destroyed the Hulk, and killed Loki. The Hulk has always been the Avengers "ace in the hole" when it came to raw physical strength. To see Hulk get so easily destroyed, so quickly, established Thanos as a serious and dangerous threat. Somewhat the situation with Loki. He's always been a master of getting himself out of bad situations, but here he ends up just helpless and being brutally killed

To build on this: it didn't STAY that way (nor did the other changes stick) because he only had three stones; other effects can be permanent if they replicate actual "work" (like blowing stuff up with the Power Stone), but a shift like that can't be done without more stones (Possibly all; the rules aren't quite set in stone, pun intended).

23:40 That's what makes Thanos one of the best villains of all time. He's not illogical or nonsensical or even malicious... He doesn't kill just for killings sake, he kills when something stands in the way of or threatens his plan. He *is* right about what he says and you can understand it... But it doesn't make what he is doing OK. From Thanos point of view, he's the hero, the savior of the universe and life.
