Yes. The music, for me, is much more personal and mature from modern pop. That is not a slight against pop, just toatly different styles. It's that pop music is focused mostly on relationships, ormdancing, partying. And there is totally nothing less important about that...it's just not where *I* am, so I don't connect to it as much as songs about other things like spirituality, death, freedom, fear, etc. The kind of lyric driven songs I find in folk, for example. But again, please do not read this as one is "better than" another. Just different. :). Romance novels vs. mystery novels. :)

Not really. When he left they had a discussion on video about it. He said flat out that PTX was moving too fast for him to keep up. He felt he needed to step down to spend more time at home with family and let PTX continue their fast on the move pace they've built for themselves. They never stopped him from shining, it's just that most of the most popular material everyone is used to doesn't focus on him as the lead. But if you listen to enough of their music with him you'll discover he did actually take lead with Scott doing the bass duties while Avi sang.

Would agree in most cases - though some will argue that the point of a bass is to go mostly unnoticed: but checking 2:41 - 3:23 of Run To You, I see fuck all excuses for not utilising that ASTONISHING amount of sheer, raw talent. Genuinely can't recall when I've ever heard a voice that's so damn SMOOTH, yet still manages to convey such depth of emotion as he does. The man just has this ability to make you FEEL what he's singing about. That, combined with his range and vocal ability, is just exceptional. It's sad that it won't be as part of PTX anymore, but I'm not gonna complain that his voice will be the focus of any music he releases from now on 😏 (Edited because I can't spell, apparently.)

I feel like an entire movie could be made around this song with it being played at the height of the film. Yes yes yes! My mom had several albums when I was growing up. They had old recordings of slave songs. She had us listen because we needed to learn real history. The songs were so deep and meaningful that it made a huge impression on me of how the slaves went through so much due to slavery. Their entire culture was shaped by it. The passion in those songs!
