He could be doing this and PTX, like Scott and Mitch did, in the documentary he said that he would never leave all the fans of PTX and that he will keep working for PTX to be better but he didn’t keep his promise, soooooo.....

@@Alan-cz4gn, actually the fans of PTX are here, so he hasn't left us. :-) We're here seeing what else he can do besides amazingly sing pop hits--seeing what his music sounds like, what he's about. When he was leaving PTX he explained why to a certain extent, and he wouldn't have been able to keep up with the performance pace and been able to be a healthy individual. Him leaving, although hard for us fans, was actually what WAS best for the group--if he tried to keep up and crashed, that would have been much worse than the pre-announced retirement from the group. So, good job, Avi, keep the music coming!

One of the reasons he gave for leaving Pentatonix was their intense tour schedule left him no time to get out and enjoy nature. burgerpatty it’s the same with kevin. they don’t give him many singing roles, because that’s not what his job is. his job, (the same as avi’s was,) is to be the foundation of the group. the low end and percussion. so you can’t be mad that ptx didn’t give them many chances to sing. they don’t have many opportunities to sing, because it’s not their job. the only time that they can shine with their singing voices, is when there is a section of the song with no bass or no percussion.

That is the beauty of true art. It is open to interpretation. Avi is a true artist and just created a masterpiece, being this song. It could be about leaving Pentatonix, it could be a breakup from a serious relationship, it could be something he wanted so badly to succeed but he couldn't, it could be depression, it could be anxiety, it could be giving up on life but there is still hope because he has other people who understand him and/or care about him. I have mentioned a lot of things that could be or could not be. Just appreciate the song the way you want to appreciate it. If others have a different interpretation, so be it; let them be.

All of his music is so incredibly beautiful, but this song so embodies much that each and every person can relate to, especially right now in 2020. So many of us are just out there trying to get through each day with the usual burdens we bare. Some of us struggle with great anxiety and depression, and some people are near or at that breaking point. Such an uplifting song! And a great reminder that none of us are alone in our troubles. To all of those carrying their heavy loads daily, I wish you safe travels, and the encouragement to never give up or "throw in the towel". We will all get by, just don't stop believing and taking it one day at a time. And if playing this song on an endless loop helps, so be it. Thanks Avi, for helping to buoy our spirits through these tedious times. Bless you always, and your gorgeous music.

I felt every line in this song. I absolutely know that anxiety first thing in the morning, chest heavy, heart already racing, and the day hasn't even started. Just knowing how much work is already waiting, the daily stresses, it's a real, physical feeling. Stones upon my chest perfectly describes that. Tired of growing weary of these clouds that follow me. Swallowed by these shadows when it's sunshine that I need. I so get that. I get tired from being tired some times. I get tired of being down, and feeling depressed, and just sometimes feeling flat out run over. Literally, today, before hearing this song for the first time, I just came back from getting lunch, and the sun was shining for the first time in a while. I was soaking it up. I almost felt like a plant because I hadn't realized how much I missed it, and that holds true in life to. Sometimes it's just like, c'mon life. Give me just a bit of sunshine. This is really the title track of the album because it feels like the summation of Avi's journey the past two years. I've been following on the horizon for a while since you left PTX, and it's clear the anxiety, the pace, all of it was just weighing on you. There's nothing wrong with getting back to who you are, and it's so good to see you're doing far more than just getting by now. You're thriving. What an unbelievalby inspiring, relatable, and uplifting track.

Having been affected by depression and anxiety for many years, this song describes the struggle . At the end of the day, you look back and realize that you get by. Nothing gained but just getting by. The symbolism is on point with this song. Thank you Avi Kaplan. Someone who understands.

I live in a pretty northern place and I'm completely starving for sunshine. My mood lifts every time I get a bit of sun, which is maybe twice a week lately. It's probably part of why I get depressed by the end of winter almost every year. This year we didn't even get real snow. Just cold rain, mud and wind for five months straight. Can't wait for spring, which should start within the next few weeks. I just hope we don't have some sort of Corona lockdown by then. Anyway, feeling particularly bad lately, but this song is really beautiful.

I’ll get by ................ Early in the morning I feel stones upon my chest That I carry to the evening 'Til I lay back down to rest But I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by I'm tired and growing weary Of these clouds that follow me Swallowed by the shadows When it's sunshine that I need But I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by I've been feeling hollow Yeah, my soul just can't be found So fill me with the feeling That this song will turn around Take all my cares away Lighten my load Trust it'll be ok But 'til then I'll go Onward down the road Carried by the hope Then I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by Yeah, I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by I'll, I'll, I'll I'll get by

I thought the same thing! And while hiking, they are even social distancing for the most part. :D

@@TheMusicPinkLover91 I agree. That's far worse than the virus itself. Most people will recover, but because people have been told not to go to work, many people are depressed because they can't make ends meet, or they're suffering from isolation and loneliness. Sadly, many have abandoned hope and committed suicide. Maybe this song would have talked them out of it.

I’ve been struggling with depression for a long time. I’ve dealt with suicidal thoughts and tendencies. For me music has always been one of the best things for me to lean on. Avi you are one of my idols as far as people who I look up to anytime I feel the need to be inspired. You make such beautiful soul shaking music that makes me just want to go be in the wild. This is such a beautiful song and it honestly moved me to tears. It’s so simple and calming but amazing. You’re the only person I have all notifications on for and it’s because your music is amazing. Please keep being this good and please keep being you.

Same. I dealt with depression since I was 15 and at 20 when I tried to take my own life. I was forced to get help at a behavioral hospital and after I got out I started to pick myself up again piece by piece. I finally got through it and didn't have a single ideation for 3 years until my dad passed away suddenly. Now I feel like I'm back at square one, but I think this song was just what I needed. Hayley Williams of Paramore recently released some solo work and she has a song called "Leave It Alone" it's a bit darker than Avi's, but it still hits me right in the feels. 💔

In The Name of JESUS CHRIST I plead The Powerful BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST into your soul spirit conscious and SUBCONSCIOUS. " And JESUS CHRIST our LORD was shown to be The Son of GOD when GOD powerfully Raised HIM from the dead by means of THE HOLY SPIRIT." ( ROMANS 1:4) "GOD CREATED YOU IN HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS" (GENESIS 1) THIS means that you CAN think and talk and operate like GOD. Tell GOD that you accept these Promises from HIM to you in JESUS NAME.

Dear Chris Roberts, think of one person who is beautiful...You... Remember all you have worked for, no matter how small or inconsequential this may be, don't loose it all just because of the negative projections from some few inconsequential persons... There are over 6 billion people on this earth (I think there is way more), and among this crowd of people there is more than enough that are far more wonderful, positive. Now count yourself as one. You never know who is looking up to you.... Psalm 91, the Lord is your strength, Shepard and guide and may you be granted the grace and wisdom to eat at the table of plenty and mercy He has prepared for you in the presence of your enemies, which includes depression and self doubt...You will succeed in Jesus name. Amen. Patience is the key (this is coming from an impatient person who is seeing all the benefits come through by learning to be patient and Trusting the Greatness of God whose timing is always perfect even if it is not when we want it..So don't cheat yourself out of receiving that blessing before it matures to come to pass

What a lot of people don't realize is that depression and anxiety can quite literally feel like stones that you're carrying around. It's exhausting and every time you get out of bed, every time you go out in public, every time you literally do anything, even just simple acts like brushing your teeth or putting shoes on, you add another stone. Physically, emotionally, and mentally it makes it harder and harder to actually function instead of just laying in bed all day from the weight that LITERALLY feels like it's crushing you. I've never been able to put the feelings into words, and every day I JUST get by is a victory. Its amazing that Avi has been able to put this into something so wonderful that everyone can understand.
