I've heard him sing 3 versions of this and all are so different I don't know if I could choose a favorite. Full choir version gives you chills, the full studio version is rich and cinematic and then there is this quiet, stripped back ,melodious version. I think he is creating a powerful body of work that people are going to be discovering for years to come.

One thing about a song like "Full Moon" is the skill, control, and emotion it takes to produce sound that is so tranquil and evocative. It's a lot easier for a singer to belt out a tune than it is to step back like this, where every note is intimate and out in the open. Avi has said that this song came to him when he was watching a full Pink Moon, and he wrote it as an homage to the beauty of the moon. As many have noted, every one of the 7 songs on his EP is very different from the rest, showing beautiful versatility and the truth of his heart.

Also, Avi's mother was sick with cancer and he was flying back and forth from their European tour almost every weekend to spend time with his mom and it just got to be too much. He needed to be with his mom during her sickness. I think he also missed being able to go out and commune with nature.

Avi left on good terms because he needed time for his own well being and to be with his mom whom was pretty sick and he did not want to slow Pentatonix down ( he did not leave to go solo I think that was just a happy result.) He even helped find Matt his replacement. He made a very tough decision as for what was best for him and Pentatonix.

Yesss, it's my favorite song ( besides "Sage and Stone") . I've heard three versions, with a choir, the studio version and this one, can't pick a favorite, they are all soo good and the song stays in your head for weeks !! Before he started to sing , he explained this was an ode to the moon and he wrote this song in two hours after watching a pink moon for the first time. He doesn't only look like Jesus, he's genuine, humble , humane, uplifting and he's bringing light to others with his music. Some suggestions... I"ll get by, Born in California, Otherside, Aberdeen, but any other is fine as well :) !!

Just subscribed because you are reacting to world class singers here! Peter Hollens, Home Free and Avi Kaplan are three of my top favourites of all time. Voctave is awesome too! Because of that I'm going to give you a suggestion you will NEVER REGRET reacting to. Namely CHRIS KLÄFFORD! Chris won Swedish Idol 2017 and got to the semifinals in AGT last year. He's not your average popstar. You will be surprised by the quality of his guitar playing and above all his UNEARTHLY VOICE (and his beard, hehe)! Chris has some awesome original songs but I'm going to tease you with something perhaps a bit more familiar to begin with. Have a look here! I will give you two choices! Both Chris Stapleton covers.
