Streets of Gold is a bittersweet tale in a kingdom far away, in an age long ago of magic and conquest. The traveler has fought honorably for his King, his family, and now finds himself with no one left to defend, wandering the ruined towns he once saw full of life. The scary part about this song is how relatable it is. A song of misplaced hope in a world with a seemingly grim future; but misplaced hope is better than no hope. It's a bittersweet symphony, and it's my favourite track on the album for that reason.

This has become, in my mind, my Paladins theme song. By the end of the campaign two of his friends where dead and beyond resurrection. The apocalypse they had fought so hard to stop had happened, and the group's adoptive son and his young paladin apprentice were also probably dead. Left wandering a broken world, driven forwards by only a desire for vengeance and bleak duty, I imagine this as his theme song.

Streets of Gold is probably the underdog on this album, among all these songs based on popular IPs, but I also think it is one of the strongest on the album. The balance between depressing and hopeful, in combination with the Stargazers-era instrumentation already made it one of my favorites!

This is just so good. I can imagine how the traveler is feeling, after everything he's done, everything he's seen, every sad, happy moment that he has shared with his companions, friends, family, and everything that he protected now gone, he's all alone. It's just so sad and satisfying at the same time, knowing that the traveler did everything he could for his king and his family, that he succeeded in protecting them with all his might.

I think in a way it is meant to be a call for help. The description says there is no one left, only the traveller. I don't know if the song was meant to be so relatable, but for me, it hits personally. When I graduated highscool I felt invincible, confident and proud. After coming back and recovering from a difficult time in middleschool, discovering my passion as a writer and making lifelong friends that remain with me to this day, I was so sure the worst was behind me and the best was ahead of me. I went to college for a semester and a half and crumbled, a combination of academic failure, social difficulties and mental illnesses I didn't know I had. I came home a mess, barely able to function and having lost all confidence in myself. It's been years since then, and I still struggle with the issues that cropped up. My mental health has taken things from me, I've lost relationships, opportunities, and I've struggled to achieve the goals I've always had for myself. All too often, I feel alone and at the mercy of my own brain, and I feel like everything would be ok right now if I'd simply never gone to college. I'm only just regaining my confidence, and I want, I need, to believe that things can get better. I need to believe I'll get back everything that these past years have taken from me, that I can achieve what I want to. I don't want my high school years to be the prime of my life, and I don't want to believe that I'll never feel as happy as I did again. Again, I don't know why this song evokes those feelings in me, but it does. It reminds me of what I wish for.

Originally this was the low-key song of the album, but listening to it more than once, I fell in love with it so quickly. Got my introduction to the Aviators via Traveler's Song as a random recommendation here on KZbin. Loved it, started listening to some of their other stuff. my first dnd character of 2 years fell in love with a half elf near the binging of the campaign. our goal was to seal away the KING IN YELLOW he was a great old one who was going to plunge the world into darkness. as the campaign went on the love between the 2 characters grew as they won battels lost party members, but in order to seal away the king in yellow our party needed an elder sign. what we didn't know was that in order to create and elder sign there needed to be a sacrifice and the half elf my wife needed to sacrifice herself in full, nothing would be left behind no afterlife. so she did she became the one thing we needed to seal him away. after we sealed away the king in yellow the party disbanded.... and my character was left alone to continue fighting... this song makes me think that in his old age he makes his journey back to where his wifes grave is thinking about all the good times and bad, knowing he will never see her again even in death and at the end of the song he takes his last breath next to her tome stone.

This song is literally perfect for a story I'm writing. It's a knight who rebels from his King, fights the King and his armies, and wins against all odds, only to wonder what he was fighting for the whole time, because everything he had done was rooted in love for his King and desire for recognition from him, not a desire to rule. I dunno, the song just feels perfect. Thank you, the song is beautiful either way!

I agree would add now he looks for his twin flame and hopes somehow be it stars or road or destiny to lead him to her for they been with each other through all theirlifetimes and never had a chance to meet and fall😉
