Avocado Mayo Review- Bring Out the Green Foods | EpicReviewGuys CC

Avocado oil is finding its way into lots of foods these days as a healthier oil. But how does it do as the main ingredient of a mayonnaise? Chosen Foods- chosenfoods.com/products/avoc... makes a very good mayo- but it is not quite the same the far cheaper Hellmann's traditional mayonnaise.

I love it when you smack the mug! Nice review, I see a use for the avocado one for sandwiches but the classic is what you need for potato salad etc.

Hellmann's has an avocado lime mayonnaise, now. I'll have to try it. I also like their olive oil mayonnaise.

In california I bought Best Foods.. same mayo here in oklahoma is Hellman's. Same mayo. West coast Best FOods, east cose Hellman's.

I make homemade Avocado Oil Mayonaise. I use plenty of mustard and lemon juice to make it tangy. I also season with salt and white pepper. Tastes much better than Hellman's / Best Foods in my opinion. It's also only about $3.50 to make for 12 oz jar. Soybean oil is known to worsen insulin resistance, even more than fructose / sucrose. Avocado oil doesn't have that problem. Sure happy to enjoy mayo again, especially since it tastes better than Hellman's and doesn't cost any more. I'm diabetic and can't eat any soybean oil whatsoever.

I use mayo instead of butter on the outside of my grilled cheese sandwiches to get them toasty brown. Would this stuff work for that?

That's interesting. I am not sure but since Avocado oil is good at fairly high temperatures it might be a good option.

Veganaise is excellent. So is shelf-stable (before opening) Just Mayo from Hampton Creek sold in the regular mayo section. Both are plant-based. I'm not really sure what the point of all these "I don't like healthy foods" videos are lately. We get it.

MUFAs!. My late husband had genetically super high cholesterol so this would have been a great alternative. Food Comparison reviews is a GREAT idea. Maybe some high-low price reviews could be great also...

Maybe you should have taken these to the jury. Not that your opinion isn't important. I have tried the avocado mayo and agree that the taste or quality doesn't warrant the expense. Making your own with all the "good" stuff is the way to go.... it's easy and quite tasty. I still use the Best Foods because I'm used to it and am too lazy for my own good! Nice job!

The avocado mayonnaise shouldn't taste like avocado.. it should taste like mayonnaise. Avocado oil is neutral in flavor, as well as shelf stable with out refrigeration.. chunks of avocado flesh would not hold up well as anyone knows who has ever made guacamole ... : )

I prefer soybean oil based as I like having sensitive nipples. It saves money on both mayonnaise and oestrogen pills!

Richard Hellman mafe his mayo and used it for sandwiches at his deli in the early 1900s. His stuff was big on the east coast. He sold his brandname to west coast company Best Foods and retired. Even though Best Foods retained Hellmann's recipe and sold it exclusively on the East Coast, it's supposedly nearly identical to Best Foods recipe. Today both mayos are made in the same Factory. As for packaging, Hellman's was the one who did the Blue Ribbon artwork. So I'm guessing Best Foods copied it?

Best Foods and Hellman's are the SAME company. One is on the West Coast, the other is on the East Coast. Same ingredients. Same mayo.

I don't associate GMO with necessarily being toxic but it is good that there are products without for people who prefer that.

Lea I agree! GMO are so extremely toxic for health! So inflammatory and cause all kinds of autoimmune diseases. Plus the Hellman's has trans fatty acids which I like to avoid like the plague.
