Hi SilverHammer, I have just stumbled on your review. Going by your review, this camera is very good value for money as it does what it states. I cannot comment on this system as I am looking to purchase in Australia. There is another review on KZbin, where the reviewer seems very happy with it. It is obviously a budget entry level PT camera with respectable specs. In relation to cheap quality plastic, I agree as it is important to have decent construction. However, if it is mounted in a high position, it cannot be reached easily. As long as it doesn't disintegrate with the weather eventually. You can have a $2K PTZ and the thief can smash with a hammer or spray paint. For a home CCTV, I think is a good edition to a cheap basic system. Is it really worth spending $$$$ on a CCTV as they always update? It is becoming another commodity where you upgrade electronics, mobile phones, TV's, CCTV's every few years. I’m not sure which KZbinr you’re talking about, but 1. They might not be a professional installer & they might not know any better. 2. They might just be giving a positive review because Annke sent the camera for free. Again, depends on who you’re talking about. As far as putting this camera out of reach, that defeats the purpose because you’ll start to lose detail. Annke gives this camera a decent weather rating, but I’m not buying it. This is the cheapest (in quality) pan/tilt camera I’ve tested….like I said in the review, “you get what you pay for”. On a budget, it’s better than nothing, but that’s all I can say about it. I wanted to love it, I really did. As far as updates, you just need to buy a camera that allows firmware updates. If you buy a good one that is upgradable, you should never have to replace it. The KZbinr seems not a professional installer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKCxpZSFet-ti7c I am looking around for a decent home CCTV upgrade (As I have a currently have a cheap ebay Sannce CCTV system) A PT camera would be nice. Can you point me to the right direction of what you recommend? I am also looking other videos you have. Not sure if Australia has them here. Maybe Hikvision system NVR 8 Channel POE 8MP? Cheers

Good honest review, I unfortunately purchased the ANNKE system and the NVR is SO SO Bad.... I regret buying the system for this reason alone... I was not aware of the Chinese links so thanks for that info.

lol. I can assure you the good people at Alibi Security (in Austin Texas) aren’t putting “back doors” in their NVRs. I’ve been to their assembly facility. I’ve watch the NVRs being assembled. I’ve also met the people creating the firmware. Nothing nefarious going on there.

Sale time so I bought 2 and not the usual plug&play POE - after 2 weeks of trial&error discovered you need to do a hard reset using a separate power supply before you connect to your NVR and whilst it is basically a manual camera you can tweak the settings: PTZ control Preset>Pattern>Patrol to make it automatic

Does this camera actually have Smart Detection (AI 2.0) ? The polish website mentions inteligent motion detection, but terenie is no mention of AI 2.0. Annke technical support only mentions general motion detection function. This camera detects people and vehicles, but ignores e.g dogs and cats?

Annke over promises and under delivers. my system is supposed to have two way audio, and it only has listening mode. My event notification motion detection works on some of the cameras, some of the time and no matter what I do, resetting the system, the cameras, motion detect still works erratically. I hope to get another system soon. Annke has been mediocre at best.
