We have to listen to the prospect or we cant begin to comprehend the issue and establish the true underlying needs and diagnose the creative remedy. Well said, Chris!

The thing I like about your videos, is you're not focused and what makes you the most, it's making sure you understand what they are saying and if they're ready, or still unsure.

It takes strategic thinking to be successful in anything, sales in particular. Focus on the selling last, and listen to the person first!

this is 100% true, and it is an art form and a skill that is hard to learn. I love to talk about myself and my work but every single time I open my mouth to talk about my 3dsmax and rendering skills the manager of the firm that I am talking to starts talking about the skills of some employee he has or HAD in the past, or last one I spoke to a couple of weeks ago talked about another person he met with amazing Rhino skills. I think the reason is most of us are extremely selfish and self loving people and when we feel someone is smarter than us we feel threatened and like to shut them up. Never be the smartest person in the room, shut up and let the big boss in front of you be the smarter person. keep your ideas to yourself or to when they pay you for them. I am 46 in January and have been literally going door to door to sell renderings for 25 years, and I promise you this is true. listen to their rants, listen to their claims of superiority, nod your head, get the job. Failure is guaranteed if you flaunt your skills. their ego can't handle it.

Never be the smartest person in a room This? Worst advise ever. You want to be the the smartest or You'll never be the big boss that people need to listen to if you think that way. It's about grabbing attention and holding it. If you can't talk about yourself and hold someone's attention. You'll always be the little guy talking to the big guys

So true! Personally, I can't stand sales-people who are busy trying to upsell me and not hearing my problem I need fixing. Makes me want to run away at the first opportunity

Well, if I am trained very well, I don’t think I just need to think what to sell to such. It will come natural!!! The secret is at listening first, then execute later. Not sure if I explained myself well. Now, if you are a newbie, yeah, you have to improvise in the moment BUT careful, if subscriber doesn’t feel that vibe and the feeling of a front sale can be smelled, you could potentially lose your catch to someone else

I believe if you aren’t aware of this, you can’t sell. Solve a problem, don’t create one. If you solve their problem by selling them what they need, you are most likely be able to get more out of it

That’s excellent advice, but adding in there “if I’m pretending to be one of you guys” totally makes you look like a douchebag because you give examples of us simps in the past but you don’t say things like “if I’m pretending to be one of you guys” and it just makes you more relatable. I never questioned it. Now you seem less confident lol
