Avon Viper Stryke Tyres Slipping - SYM Joymax 300

Had them fitted to burgman 400 and can confirm that they are crap and unpredictable in the wet but fine in the dry , bridgestone hoops better on the burgman and city grips or city grip 2 work well on my sym joymax 300i in all weathers .

Is that the first you slipped on them i just got the viper stryke on my benelli tnt 125 and after fitting it was pouring down and i mean it was belting down and they seemed to have good wet grip and thats with them only 10 minutes on the bike how long have you had them on

Now replaced with good old Michelin City Grips and its like a new bike! Its an SYM Joymax 300i for anyone interested...

Had the same thing happened to me but impossible to say if it was something on the road, it did look ike there was a dirty patch on the road before your slide occured. Good tire in the dry , not sure about the wet but its November and still enjoy riding my scoot.....

that was close!! I just bought myself a Honda PCX 125 after watching your videos traveling across Europe!! makes me wanna do it one day, the only concern I have with the bike is the stock tires it comes with, I came off another bike before on a rainy day, felt it going at the roundabout and slowed down but before I knew it I found myself kissing the tarmac at the next turn on a cold day. smashed a turn signal, mirror, mudguard, bent the handlebar along with the break lever and bruised my knee and ankle, also had petrol pouring on me while my right leg was still stuck underneath the bike on the foot-peg, it was a truly unpleasant experience which shook me hard. the worst thing was, it was early in the morning and the two cars behind me just went around and drove off and left me there in the middle of the road. winter in the UK has started already and I'm not looking forward to another disaster lol How much did it coast you to get the tire or tires changed to Michelin?

I just bought a suzuki burgman 400 with these tyres on and the first ride to work in the wet I nearly came off about 5 times. Its literally like riding on ice, I can spin up the back wheel at half throttle in a straight line!!! Pressures are perfect too. I just ordered the Brigestone battleaxe sc's

Only just seen your reply. The City Grips have been good for me, not perfect but good.Make sure you lean you body weight into the corners so the bike doesnt have to lean so much and basically take your time! To be honest i rode the stock tyres till they were bald but never pushed the pcx, just take the corners at a comfortable pace then accelerate out, he pcx is so light it accelerates perfectly.

I just took my PCX for a service last Saturday and they came back to me saying that my rear tyre is basically bold which I knew lol but they did not have anything else in store but the Bridgestones so I went for them as I had no other choice and it was pouring down like hell so I wasn't gonna push it, and as far as I'm concerned the tyres are handling just fine :)

Close call buddy, could of turned into a low side or high side, Avon tyres are garbage like their made from plastic
