The Recorder is the "sports car" of the woodwinds. It is the ultimate responder to the slightest touch and breath, even the beginner plastic Tudors and Yamaha tenor pieces. Lucie has shown amazing fluidity and intuitiveness with her instruments over the years. Would that our American young musicians draw inspiration from her.
@AlfredLopez-photographer Жыл бұрын
It is very rare that a young musician in America would get some inspiration from something like this. Usually, they will watch this video and say "Hey that's cool!" and that would be the end of that. Lucie's dedication and discipline are the driving factors of her success (and help from her parents, of course), and these are rare qualities of American students, these days. Very recently, I showed a similar video and the one of Frans Bruggen playing the Bach concerto BWV 1053 (originally for keyboard, which, BTW Lucie also recorded), and they made the aforementioned reaction, and nothing more. No desire. Even the students that I taught flute to, had no interest in the instrument. Much less, the recorder, which I also play. It's a bit sad to think about, but it's a reality we have to contend with. 🙂

Nederlands are really a paradise for classical music! Victorsarmaniego is right! It's beautiful to see the interest that dutch children show towards the classical repertoire! This girl is a really AWESOME musician and the orchestra (very good) is entirely composed by young people. In my country (Italy) is almost impossible to find a similar situation! Here, the average public is interested in american pop music, and that's a pity, because we have been the motherland of a lot of great musicians!

This is crazy. In 2011 Lucie was just a little kid, a promising musician from the Netherlands, Brett and Eddy were some random violinists in uni in far Australia. Who would have thought that 10 years later she will be roasting Twoset Violin, KZbinrs with over 2 million subscribers while being an amazing recorder player signed by Decca Classics. +Electric Dave Some people just have natural abilities that are far beyond most people. When I was 12 years of age I was very competent at mathematics and was fascinated by calculus. When I was 15 at school I was doing mathematical programming and trying to discover by myself optimization solutions that I didn't even know were real world mathematical problems and I thought I had stumbled into some new area that I invented. I hope that young girl uses her natural abilities and that may extend to beyond just music.

I'm pretty sure that the fact she's playing a wood recorder instead of a plastic recorder has a huge impact on the quality of the sound.
@elektra1215 жыл бұрын
@@expression3639 Interestingly, far, FAR less so than everyone likes to think. Even professional musicians use plastic recorders. The material is far more "predictable" for the instrument makers than any natural grown material - and the rigidity and density of the material is what makes the sound. In reality, it is all about the skills of the musician (except for really, really cheap play "instruments").
@barneydenstad21485 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Such flutes are supposed to be basic instrument for beginners. But as we saw here, if the artist is skilled and hard working, you get music of highest degree. Big bravo also to her collegues, good musicians although of the age of a typical music school for beginners... You dont need to be a beginner for years.
