Rebel Diaries 60 - The Empire certainly has been busy, and they have at least one large force, but from what a lot of the recon is saying, it may just be one large force bolstered by a series of capital ship production facilities at places like Corelia and Bilbringi, and perhaps others. It'll certainly make Operation Python a tough one to complete in crushing the Empire, but I'd think we've made some progress. And it probably isn't multiple fleets, which was shown when the Northern Fleet rushed to Jedha to provide some aid to Leia's forces on the ground, only to find that the Imperial force had fled. And then the Bulwark's fleet retook the orbit over Carida and found that the main space forces there were also gone... BUT they did take out a massive ground army, including General Veers' shuttle. It would appear that the shuttle pilot isn't any better than the walker pilot. That's all good... and I hear that ground troops are already being moved to retake Carida. That'll be even better. But the fleet the Empire has hasn't been completely inactive, as while they fled Jedha, they did chase the Southern Fleet from Thyferra and then moved up to Ithor. In the south, it would appear that the Southern Fleet retired quickly, but at Ithor the garrison and a lone MC80 did engage. And there, between the Imperials dividing their fleet and running into some pirates, the force did quite well, despite being massively outnumbered. The Empire did take the orbit of Ithor, but lost two carriers, a few escort and artillery ships, and two Star Destroyers, with a third taking heavy damage. That combined with the losses the Empire took over Carida with regard for their ground forces may buy us time to secure Carida and then consider following moves... possibly with the Bulwark's fleet... as this time they did bring in their carriers and between X-Wings and Y-Wings swarming the Imperials, their garrison couldn't focus on the Bulwark. In the meantime, the Northern Fleet did return to the north, and we've secured the orbit over Adumar. The Black Sun had a bunch of retreated ship elements, that likely came from the liquidation of the Mandalore Pocket. Their lighter ships were tough to fight through, and I think the fleet lost all its blockade runners in the fight, but they also took out the Black Sun's artillery, fighters, and even a few ground transports. That will set things up for a ground fight with some of the forces coming from Illum... speaking of which... I did get a run in with Luke as he made his way there. He said he'd been on Chandrila for a while and to was largely focusing on practicing his skills, while also seeming a bit impatient over being away from the action... After being imprisoned on Yaga Minor, I can understand that. Though, the big news was that he was going to Illum as part of an idea to restore the Jedi Order... or at least find others that may have survived the rise of the Empire besides Kota. I had to tell him that I wished him well but pitied anyone having to deal with Kota. The guy is seriously grumpy. Anyway, I think this sets things up further for the continuation of Operation Python. Take Carida and Adumar and then begin to pincer that Imperial fleet with the Northern Fleet and the Bulwark's fleet... maybe even make a push on Bilbringi... or raid it on the ground if Leia, Katarn, and their raiding teams feel up to it. And while Thyferra may be a popular target, I might suggest the Southern Fleet focus on Jakku. It's an Imperial world, but smaller and would allow for another direct route to Jedha... and may even allow for the establishment of at least a small response force in space while the main Imperial fleet is hunted. And dealing with that will still require some effort. More fighters are always good... but Mon Calamari, Kuat, and others could also continue to push out Mon Cal cruisers. That'll provide the numbers to crush that fleet and deal with the Imperial fortifications in the core. - Wedge Antilles

Rogue Squadron Journal Week 352 - Adumar Cmdr. Witton Bogre - Rogue 2 "The Adumar Myknock shoot" I've been involved in a number starfighter wars before. From Scarif to Sullust to Dathomir to Deltoonie and everything in between. However, the fighter battle at Adumar was very different from the rest. While other times we may have had equal numbers or been outnumbered, we always had backup. Not this time. Thanks to reconnaissance from Bravo Flight we were able to accurately hyperspace past the Black Sun's defenses. Unfortunately it turned out that we jumped in a little too close to the gathering fleet and it's swarms of fighters. All coming straight for us. The space between the two fleets were awash with missiles, torpedos, and bombs. They rained down hard on the Phoenix's shield but it held. Thank the Force for Mon Cal shielding. Then our orders came in from Admiral Cress. Clear the space around the Phoenix. I'm not too proud to admit there was a moment of silence after we heard the order. None of us were too keen on taking on a couple hundred Black Sun fighters ranging from Z-95's to Star Vipers. Wedge, knowing what we were all thinking, got us back on track by reminding us that we were the fleet's only hope to hold off hoard. So alone and without backup we engaged. Each member of Rogue Squadron got no less than 20 confirmed shoot downs. Each member of Rogue Squadron must achieve Ace status before joining and everyone has re-earned that status after Adumar. We fought and flew until both our cannons and engines burned out. The Admiral told us that our display got the attention of every pirate fighter and kept them off the capital ships, giving them the time to deal with the enemy's capital ships. Our squadron mechanic is gonna be furious at the state of your X-wings but they served their purpose. If my girl Kylah was here she'd have these things ready in a week. It's been almost a year since we last saw each other. Hopefully we can meet up with the Liberation soon. Either that or maybe I can call on some favors and get her transferred. At least we did get to see Commander Skywalker again. He only met us briefly just before the battle to encourage us and wish that the Force would be with us. It most certainly was. Maybe Luke really can bring back the Jedi Order.

Captains log: Week(348) First roll of dice, mc75s drop out of warp near the front where the empire form its star formation. Vindicater flank by 2 ISDs along with support ships flank from the rear. At this point, some of the ships i had under my command were inexperienced crew, reason being is the mc75 captains were more bolder than i told them to be. I gave those mc75s a direct order to pull back towards the fleet. They chose to commit and disobey my orders and press the attack. Although there attack force the empire to change formation, both ships would fall to the amount of fire power the empire was putting out. At cost of 2 mc75s, we got 1 Vindicater class crusier, if i was the empire, thats a trade i would take on any given case. As for the rest of the fleet, lightning squadron rack up the most of the kills with 40 ties and a few subsystem hits on the isds. I decide to tighten formation and close ranks with the 2 isds but by the time i got into range and over clock the shields, a imperial crusier of unknown design move between both isds and fire ions and disrupt the whole plan. I order both liberty classes and lightning squadron to fire everything into it. It was the first of its kind and probably not the last of it. As empire began to crack everything else went to motion, lightning and few x and y wings glass those isds back to the grave yard they once came. By the time the battle was over, report wasnt pretty, 2 mc75 gone with more reports flooding on what was lost in this battle. Ive sent a full report to captain shack and request immediate aid. I highly doubt the empire wont be gone long. I went to the hanger bay to check the situations about traffic jams in the hanger bay but it wasnt what i thought i was expecting. Rebecca was yelling at these rookies that were landing on board that u have spaces to land. I heard what she said before i left, " THIS IS A HANGER BAY, NOT A PARKING STRIP, IF U THINK THAT THIS IS A REBEL BASE GO BACK TO HOTH FROM WINCE YOU CAM". She really is hanger queen of the fleet. I was about half way to my ready when chaos happen, red alarm went off and colonial jason was wanting me to report to the bridge immediately. By the time i got to the bridge i saw it, 6 isds drop out of warp infront. Told the fleet to prep for hyperspace jump. The empire wont budge i guess this war is going to not stop till the emperor is dead. (Log ended)

There is knack to it, like not waiting for the scripted text before moving Ace, and once you know where the intercepting star destroyers are, there is an optimal route for your escape. But it is tricky and can take couple of goes. Shame for Shack not to try at all though, Battle of Endor can be frustrating but epic.

@@chewy3313 I've never once had a single problem with the Zhar mission. I did make the mistake of bringing a tiny fleet to Endor once and that was a huge mistake. But I know Ace is captured but it looks like him dying bugged the system because Zhar shouldn't even show as green it should look like Endor does and you shouldn't be able to move anything there except for Ace, I think he put a spy or a infiltrator there a while back.

Cerulean Aces Log: Week 352 In hyperspace on route to -DATA CORRUPTED- The Mid Rim hasn’t changed much. What I mean by that is it’s still chaos over here. However, that hasn’t stopped the Alliance from making massive gains. We’ve been moving all over the rim stopping Imperial attacks. Starfire Squadron, along with some of Saw Gerrara’s Partisans, helped take out an Imperial carrier while it was trying to ambush our ground forces in transit. The Cerulean Aces themselves have seen some action, taking out multiple Star Destroyers in a fighting retreat with one of our MC80 Independece-class warships, the Bulwark. It hasn’t been a bad month. We’ve made gains across the board. Potentially the biggest one of them was ambushing and destroying General Veers and an entire legion of the Imperial Army while they were building up their next attack force in orbit. They’ve lost irreparable vehicles, officers, and thousands of troops. General Veers’s death is a massive gain, as he was one of the Empire’s best Generals. He led the attack force in the Battle of Hoth, and took out half the escaping fleet. I have a tremendous amount of respect for his brilliance as a strategist, but I still hate the side he chose in this war. A request I’ve made a few weeks ago for a third CR90 Corvette to add to our fledgling fleet was granted. This one came from the planetary defense force of a world the Alliance liberated a while back. Apparently, the defense force decided to merge their fleet with the Alliance’s. We got their corvette, the PDV Holdfast. Black Sun forces tying up our fleets in the Outer Rim are almost destroyed. Maybe Rogue Squadron will finally be able to make it up to the front with us. God knows we could use their help with the sieges. Overall, I’d say this week was a nice change of pace. That’s all.

Admiral's Log Admiral Davon Cress, CO of MC 80 "Independence" - Class "Phoenix" Alliance Northern Fleet One of the few times I get to pry myself away from my duties, we find ourselves stuck in an absolute frenzy. The Empire has hammered both our southern and eastern fronts with all new battlegroups. The Imperial standard seems to have switched to using carriers as escort. Frankly with the Empire now setting their sights on us and us alone, we're in for a rough cage fight. Admiral Carrick down south knows this all too well. He's been constantly contesting the orbit of Thyferra and the surrounding area. So much so that his force is starting to wear down. Fresh ships coming off the line from Sullust and Hoth are being ordered to reinforce his fleet, especially after Carrick was routed from Thyferra by another large Imperial battlegroup. Some of these battlegroups are starting to look more and more like they're straight out of the battles over Dathomir and Muunilist. Of course, all this is not without retaliation. The Bulwark's fleet managed to retake the Orbit of Carida on the hunch that Imperial ground troops were in orbit and were about to mount an assault on Onderon, whose partisans managed to destroy the carrier in orbit. Our fleet overwhelmed their defenses, and managing to catch most of the ground troops with their pants down. Supposedly Veers was caught loading up in his shuttle before it was destroyed by our X-Wing advance elements, alongside an entire division of AT-ATs, infantry, armor, you name it. All without losses on our part. The Battle of Ithor afterwards was comparatively not so easy. The Vengeance and the 117th Interceptor Wing were taken by surprise by yet again another large imperial battlegroup. Resistance was fierce, as the Empire performed blunder after blunder. Whoever was in command of that fleet must've gotten cocky, splitting up their fleet like that. We took advantage of it, taking their smaller force by surprise as it roared through the asteroid field. Whatever fighter support the Empire had rushed to the scene, only to get ripped apart by 10 A-Wing squadrons. I've noticed another ace squadron also rising the ranks during that battle. The Cerulean Aces, as they are called, have been doing a bit of decent work. Maybe even rivalling Saber or Rogue squadron. I'll ensure command keeps an eye on them. Back here though, things are... looking a bit rough, especially onboard my ship. The Battle of Adumar was the last Black Sun holdout in the north, and the final stop of Operation Siren's Song. Adumar's local nebulas made it extremely hard to get any sensor data, so as the Phoenix came out of hyperspace, we found ourselves in the middle of a Black Sun convoy. Mostly fighters and escort ships. Not that they're small threats, but rather the contrary. That many small craft could decimate a frigate in a few short minutes. I found myself uttering one of Ackbar's old quotes as I ordered the escort fleet to hyperspace in. I initially thought the reactor ruptured from all the shaking from all the rounds going into our hull. Torpedo after torpedo and concussion after concussion. Thank the force for Mon Cal engineering. Speaking of reactors, we redlined that thing all the way through the fight. Much of the power was redirected to the point defense and shielding, pushing the reactor to the limit. Careful management of the reactor power was the only thing standing between us and a gigantic fireball. The escort fleet was crucial to the battle, particularly the 78th Corvette Detachment, whose captains were mostly veterans prior to being assigned to the Northern Fleet. The 78th was comprised of all Corellian Corvettes. Rogue Squadron and the 78th was integral to the defense of the Phoenix, as well as taking out most, if not all of the Black Sun's corvettes. Unfortunately, all of the 78th became the prime target for the Black Sun seeing their fleet erupt into flames just because of the fleet. Captain Talda, who commanded the 78th to rush the escort fleet, was posthumously promoted to Admiral following the battle. This whole operation however left the Phoenix in need of some repairs. The reactor, mostly. We've been running on the backups for a few days after the battle now. The engineering department back there says we'll be back up within maybe a few more days. Gotta tell you, Sullustans and Mon Cals working together could get the job done. The bridge too needs to be repaired after a stray mass driver round managed to get a lucky shot into us. Only minor injuries though, the hole was quickly closed by the emergency pressure seals. Hence why I'm recording this log in the Razgriz. In other news, I've received word from Vantiss. He's got a lead on what happened during the whole Vector incident. Heinall Vras, Ex-imperial intelligence officer who worked as a Rebel spy. Worked as an agent spying on imperial projects before we lost contact with him in his last mission onboard... the ISD Tanager. The reason why we lost contact? He was onboard the Tanager when it disappeared for those 692 days. Vras supposedly had also provided intel on something similar to the Vector Incident, though, details are scarce. What's odd is that in conjunction with the Vector Incident, all records regarding that piece of intel were erased, right before Vras disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again. All records... save a few copies of the Rebel Intel Archives I downloaded to test the databank capacity of the Razgriz long ago. Like I said, details are scarce, but there is one crucial piece of information we have. Facility K, hosted at Dandoran, which is somewhere off in the outer rim. Mentions of the facility include bioweapons research hosted by sith alchemists. I'll contact Rogue and Saber squadrons if they're willing to go on another ground mission. High command stated that any other ground units are not permitted due to the whole secrecy of the Vector Incident. For now, Admiral Cress, out.

Witton: "I figured that you'd somehow learn of the "Vector incident" Admiral. I'm just glad you believe us. We thought about telling you but we felt giving the knowledge to Alliance intelligence was better." Wedge: "It's sickening to think about. I understand why you didn't want to say anything Commander. The dead walking? It's a nightmareish thing. So the mission is to infiltrate the facility, grab any information we can, and blast the place to sinders." Witton: "Sounds so simple. Unfortunately our missions rarely are." [Since our time zones are off, I figure zaeikil and I could do the story and you can pop in if you want with Admiral Cress watching from the fleet or something if you'd like whenever it's convenient. Otherwise if you don't really care, just look at Zaeikil's comment for our story. I'll try to keep it open ended so you can roll with it. Hope that works. I didn't really have an idea for this episode so thank you for giving me inspiration.]

In my experience the Jedi are useful for holding fighters in place, stunning turrets and vehicles. You can charge them towards a black sun mortar turret and they will use the force to nock the mortar fire out of the way. I like pairing then with armor and Infantry. And I think their first fight should be as a the entire conclave before pairing them off with other attack groups. (Two Jedi here, one over there, etc).

For the Ilum Jedi yes. In the NRE when Luke/Kota search the galaxy you can get a bothan, sullustan, mon cal, and wookie jedi models.

If recall correctly corella had a fair bit of space tech above the planet taking that out should slow them empire down some and give you access to their ships once we take the planet. Mandalore can be used as a place to build up the fleet to either attack the hapes or counterattack the empire. The south needs some fleet reinforcements if they break though the lines it will spell trouble. As for Jedi they seem like an either spec force or jack of all trade army but the idea of Jedi leading the best of the best the rebellion has to offer just kinda makes sense. And finally send spy’s to core worlds see where the hell they’re making all their ships or maybe small wings of fighters to scout the front lines and look for weaknesses. Good luck captain. You’ll probably need it.

Shack! I am loving the campaign. I started playing this years ago all thanks to this channel. If you can I would highly suggest doing the battle of Endor! It is Epic! I had a huge fleet of 3 Dauntless 1 independence class, home one, 5 accumulators 3 Venators, captain shack venator, rouge one, and several smaller ships. We were attacked by a massive fleet at Endor and we won the battle unfortunately shack didn’t make it. He heroically died saving home one. I thought it was a fitting end for Shack in my play through. It would be epic to watch you take down the Death Star!

Some great battles in this one! I think you could've nailed that third ISD but it was still a solid fighting retreat. Still waiting to see production of MC-30c and Assault Frigates ramp up - Empire will always have superior capital ships but your advanced frigates are very well-armed!

I think the focus needs to be cutting down the number of frontline worlds, those imperial fleets being able to go from one side of their territory to the other so quickly means any weakness in your lines is getting attacked. If your ground invasion of Carida goes smoothly, Corulag is only a jump away and currently has no fleet stationed in orbit. Ithor has been through enough, no need for it to stay a frontline world for the entire war.

Commanders Log: Commander Rylan “Saber 1” Brask. Alliance Fighter Squadron Lead [X-Wing Squadron: Callsign - Saber] While the Rogues get to have all the fun, we’re still on Ilum. I’m not gonna complain about having quality time with the wife though. Joules has also been spending a lot of time at the temple here. Says she’d like to stick around if the Liberation gets orders to move on. I’ve already got her leave approved. Kino, one of my biggest challenges this far, has improved quite a bit from his first day. Still has his “lone vornskr” mentality but he’s much more willing to at least cooperate with others. Marius is also doing well. Speaking of Rogue Squadron, while they were having their big fight, The Liberation picked up some Sun transmissions that said a small reinforcement group was en route. I volunteered Saber to go and intercept. The Suns never knew what hit them. Seeing Kino fly in this fight, I can once again see why he’s already an ace. Other than that it’s been fairly quiet for us on Ilum. After This we should be moving to help with the mid rim sieges. Commander Brask, Out. [END OF LOG]

(A couple days after the battle at Adumar, Rogue Squadron lands unexpectedly on the Liberation. Kylah, seeing the nose art of her, shouts with excitement. Forgetting her current job she rushes over to embrace Witton. The two forgetting themselves for a moment, lost in kisses. The rest of the Squadron giving them some space.) Kylah: (teary from happiness) "I didn't expect to see you! It's been so long!" Witton: "I know, I know. I'm sorry, but it's just how things worked out." Kylah: "Are you back to stay with the Liberation?" (Witton sadly shakes his head.) Witton: "No, we're here for a mission. We need Saber for it." (Kylah closes her eyes and holds him tighter.) Kylah: "So we won't have time to spend together? There's so much to catch up on." Witton: "Yes there is, but after this mission is over we can get something more stable for us. I can't tell you about our mission because it's top secret but it comes from Admiral Cress. I've pulled some strings with him and got you transferred to be Rogue Squadron's personal and permanent mechanic." (Kylah looks up hopefully.) Kylah: "You mean..." Witton: "That where we go, you go. Well, general location that is. After Yaga Minor, Jedha, and Adumar we need a mechanic that can keep up like you can. Our new one is good but it's too much for him. I know it's technically a downgrade from Chief Engineer but..." (He's cut off as Kylah kisses him.) Witton: "I take it you're happy with that?" Kylah: "Yes! Of course!" Witton: "I'm glad to hear it. I know we just got back but I need to go meet with Captain Shack and get Saber gathered to together. We can talk after the mission is over." Kylah: "You stay safe Commander Bogre. That's an order!" (Witton smiles and kisses her.) Witton: "As you command Starshine." (After informing Shack that Saber are requested by Admiral Cress for a mission, Shack accepts and gives them the briefing room. Inside the Rogues wait for Saber to arrive.) Intercom: "Saber Squadron to the briefing room. Saber Squadron to the briefing room." [Word has not yet spread that Rogue is back onboard so this is a surprise to Saber to find the Rogues waiting for them.]

He meets up with his squadron before heading into the room.) Teavon: “Any idea what the call was about?” Rylan: “No clue. (Looks to the 4 rookies) But my guess is our greenhorns are about to get their first taste of a Saber Squadron mission.” (Rylan and his squadron walk in, with two new pilots that Witton doesn’t recognize. As he walks in, Rylan locks eyes with Witton. A grin starts to spread on his face. As he walks towards his friend he says back to his squadron.) Rylan: “Not to say I told you so, but I think I was right.” Joules: “Dak!” (He sticks his hand out in a hand shake as Joules runs to Dak and wraps him in an embrace. As Witton goes to accept Rylans shake, Rylan grabs his forearm and brings him into a man hug. As they pull back he says.) Rylan(joking): “You got a lot of nerve showing your face around here after taking all the fun from us.” (He looks to Wedge and gives him a quick salute.) Rylan: “What’s the occasion? If you’re all here it must be serious.” [Not sure if you planned on doing the briefing but if we’d like Davon, having Admiral Cress appear as a hologram as people in Star Wars often do, to do it then I don’t mind waiting a bit. If not then I’m fine with whatever happens.]

We're gonna be flying into something real difficult this time brother." [Since the time zone difference I think I can do the briefing. Davon can pop in whenever is convenient for him. I'll just leave the big over arching plot points open so he can do whatever he likes.]

We've been given a mission to assault an Imperial Bioweapons facility on Dandoran, known simply as Facility K." Janson: "I know imps don't have much creativity, but come on! Is THAT the best they could come up with?" (Wedge gives a small look of annoyance towards Janson before continuing. An image of an imperial base appears.) Wedge: "It's a small secret outpost in the outer-rim that escaped detection until recently. Admiral Cress wants us to collect any information available at the facility and then destroy it. He's entrusting us, and only us, with this mission. We're not launching a full scale attack because the Admiral wants us to collect all information possible and we're not going to risk it being destroyed." Witton: "Meaning a small covert team will have to infiltrate the base undetected and secure the data before withdrawing." Wedge: "Also, because of the sensitive nature of the weapons being developed there, no ground troops. We don't want a firefight in a Bioweapons lab." Witton: "So the way we're gonna do this is, Rylan, Shira, and Myself will infiltrate the base disguised as Imperial Inquisitors on a surprise inspection of the facility. We should be able to get all the information we want if we play our cards right. Then we hit the bases's power core and rig it to explode. The whole place should go up like a small sun. Burning away all the biological material in a large radius." Wedge: "The infiltration team will take the lambda class shuttle that you guys stole from Cress Bell. An additional rescue team made up of Teavon, Joules, Plourr, Rev, and Hobbie will use the Heron and it's stealth abilities to land nearby in case things go wrong. The rest of us will be on standby in system for air support." Witton: "Questions?" [Sorry about not including Saul for this one Jack. That's just how it worked out with Davon's story. I do have an idea for the next big fight though. Saul and his men might not survive next time given what I have in mind. Saul is going to battle his toughest enemy yet if I can pull it off. That'll be in the coming episodes. Needs to time to cook first though. Also sorry for taking so long. I had to think up an outline for this episode.]

The Jedi should be divided, between General Kota and Luke Sky-guy for lore reasons. In the meantime, you need a lot of intel on what the Empire is doing. You might be able to catch their uber-fleet moving between strategic location and thus unable to help against your incursions. Even if you can't hold, the Empire can't replace lost facilities all that quickly and you can limit their ability to wage war.

Biggest benefit of the warehouses is pop cap, not the build speed. I mean, build speed is nice but only occasionally all that relevant or necessary. Like you're not going to finish a bunch of units *after* you see a fleet in route, build speed bonus or no.

oh shack when ever you do get around to properly trying out x4 sw there is a dreadnought submod for it (which sadly isnt updated yet and no news) but if it is by the time you play it is highly recomended as it adds in a lot like the mandator 2, secutor, stradant class, keldarbi, all of them as well you are not allowed to out right buy them they can only be stolen or built your self at your own shipyard, would be a good end goal

Personally as the empire I put one inquisitor in each army, similar to how the jedi led clone units in the republic, so I'd say that's the way to go, plus more than one is a little excessive.

I would put 1 jedi in every army. The rebels already have elite strike teams and to put a jedi in the army would be a huge advantage to have. You can also have jedi team up with the rebel special ops groups if you want.

If you've never played it. You need to play Force Unleashed 1 and 2. With 1 plot hole, it litterally ends where this begins. And would follow right into the Rebel campaign. (Like so Shack can see)

The Maw and Yagar Minor were two entrenched shipyards mired in "imperial bureaucracy" or as the rebels knew, kick backs and nepotism. Squander the the key and vital resources that were ment to project imperial presence in those sectors. Rebel victories, while hard fought and well won both militarily and politically, had the forseen but unexpectedly in how swiftly enacted an overhaul of imperial bureaucracy with audits and standards was completed. Resulting Numerous Strong Fleets Appearing as if from nowhere. Horray for when your success makes life harder, sad game show noises...
