A very wise man and his answers are very profound - each viewer will receive his answer at the level they can understand. I think the truth is we haven't accepted how powerful we are. As an individual or a collective. We have been fed upon and lied too. From the time we are born boundaries and limits are imposed. It takes most a life time to understand the truth

It really makes sense when Sadhguru spoke of the amount of time we are sat with our own intelligence, and before technology where our days were filled with being in accordance with nature. It explains why I personally feel so lost, because there is too many hours in the day where I'm not actually 'being' a 'human being', and am quite stuck as a result. I've felt quite spiritually depleted for a number of years now, and have frequently looked for fulfillment externally, by walking back into, and out of the same bad relationship, only to end up back at square one feeling alone and ultimately stuck as to what I do next, having no work hasn't helped the situation either. I'm having to go through therapy in order to help me rediscover my true identity, because I simply struggle to know myself and what my purpose is in life. All I know is, is that I want to get on with life 'normally' so to speak, and do what nature expects of me, rather than being at odds with it, to be internally better so not to stray back to the path that makes me feel like nothing. At least I can say that i do have an awareness, and I guess that is a good starting point. Just to add that I am most greatful for the guidance I receive from your videos Russell, and i really enjoyed Sadh Gurus truths and spiritual insight here, so thankyou for all you do, it inspires hope for many of us I'm sure.

@@SashyGryphyth again, you don't understand how copyright works, ALL works of media and art, designs and concepts are protected by copyright the instant they are conceptualised, only explicit abandonment of any particular work rids it of copyright, you basically have to make something and then pretend you never made it. royalty free, open source, creative commons and public domain works are each a different story, but they are ALL copyrighted. mocking me for legitimate criticism speaks to your internalised toxic positivity, work on that, see the world for what it is.

@@gramursowanfaborden5820 You've forgotten some creation sources don't have human rights, so copyright doesn't remain simple in the instances where AI created anything. Also, copyright can become more complicated if created by collaboration, or if someone decides it shouldn't be relevant, but these copyright laws could differ in some countries. If you know copyright can be abandoned, it makes your initialcomment more confusing. I wasn't mocking, I asked why you responded on this particular comment of well wishing about something that had nothing to do with it. It might have served better on a comment relevant and direct, so I couldn't see the point of undermining something that didn't harm by crossing the wires. @@SashyGryphyth bringing up AI and procedurally generated music is totally irrelevant to this, but you do have a point. the law hasn't caught up with the idea yet i made my initial comment because channels like the OP here are notorious for this kind of underhanded self-promotion, attracting people because they said something nice, it seems harmless but when you think about it, you may realise it's actually quite manipulative. i have called into question the sources of the music they use here and on one of their "non-copyright" videos, and they have failed to provide me with any. a lot of this music is normally outright stolen from musicians without their consent or knowledge. the youtube copyright system us an utter shambles. i know people who have written music, uploaded it to their own channel, and then had _that video_ taken down with a DMCA strike because some asshole used it on a monetised video.

I wrote to this very question of fear yesterday. Our mind is quick to think of ways we can be judged, then we unfortunately run from the judgement and retreat to silence. In the silence we stop our lives out of fear of what was never said because of something we created that others might judge us for. We can not let ourselves cave to this. We must be free to use our minds to communicate the things we must say.

I agree with everything he said EXCEPT his vision of other animals and humans: not only through scientific studies can we see that other animals experience consciousness and have complex lives that are not based only on instinct and survival, but also by spending time with them, as I do in a sanctuary where goats, pigs, horses, rabbits, sheeps, hens, cows (etc.) live, you can see their incredible resilience and wisdom. They are such amazing teachers, showing us how to really live in the here and now ❤️🙏🏼. I don't see humans as the only beings that experience consciousness, unlike Sadhguru, many studies and ancestral cultures actually show that even plants can experience consciousness. I think all beings on this earth (and beyond) experience it, but in a different way. Ultimately as we're all connected and we're all One, all the different types of consciousness are one.

You misunderstood what he said. He was speaking only to our ability to purposely attain to a higher consciousness -- he did not say they are not conscious. In listening to him further, you would learn that a great deal of his time growing up he spent studying other lifeforms (informally), both animate and inanimate, and has a great appreciation and love for them as sentient beings, imbued with their own wisdom. We are ALL one; expressions of the same universal intelligence (my name for "it"). In fact, one of my fav Sadhguru quotes, that IMHO can't be said often enough, is that the universe is "NOT HUMANCENTRIC." I say can't be said often enough because it counters the self-serving Christian (and maybe other religions) belief that we alone are made in God's image and have been granted some sort of dominion over the earth -- interpreted by many to mean we can do with it as we please! An idea with which I vehemently disagree! So I'd caution you not to be so quick to judge based on one brief exposure to a man millions consider --- as do I -- to have attained enlightenment. He can "see" far beyond what most of us can at best imagine. There is no way that you can know what he's about based on a segment of a short interview! Namaste! 💓💓💓

After going through a spiritual journey over the last year, what I am just starting to realize is that each person's spiritual awakening, practices and being, is entirely individualistic and personalized. When I've felt lulls in my spiritual process, I've found myself frantically trying to take in as much information from the spiritual teachers that I tend to align with, and I become overwhelmed with differing information, with practicing things that simply don't align with me, and it makes me question myself and my process. Literally today I told myself that grasping for the opinion of others is, in and of itself, a resistance to my own path, or at least in a sense that I'm trying to copy people I admire and do everything "by the book" if you will. There are definitely phoneys out there, but if something someone does or says work for you, it inherently can't be BS. I've seen so many people say it and they are absolutely right; "take what resonates, leave what doesn't". If we create our own reality, we create what works for us, right? But that's just my opinion 😉

Oh my! This is EXACTLY what I talk about in my book! I go into this “theory” that what we all want is to survive, evolve and thrive. When we feel a bit more stable in the survival side, we start focusing on the other two. We evolve from the challenges (he calls it suffering). The greater the challenges the greater the potential for growth. We all have small personal goals and this desire for achieving keeps us interested on evolving, but the ultimate goal is to thrive in every endeavor and also as species (also the goal of every cell - but cells just intuitively do what they must in order to survive, evolve and thrive). Now you talk about external influences i us and our personal influence in the world… my book is exactly about this: how our existence influences the world. Every action and even just our mood will impact our environment… if we live mindfully, our impact can be huge and support the evolution and progress of humanity. If we live clumsy, reactive, and unaware of the repercussions of our actions, we still are impacting everyone around us. My book talks about how to apply mindfulness into our every day lives so we can live fulfilling lives, understand the nature of the mind, self inflicted suffering and our desires, and how to train our minds to serve our ultimate goal of thriving. I am a kundalini yogi and yoga instructor and mindfulness saved me from self harm. PLEASE, I would LOVE if you could read it… I am “just one” awakening and trying to at least impact just a dozen… perhaps like old school Jesus… but I would LOVE to have someone like you breakdown this philosophy I present in my book! It has changed my life!!! Here it is My Mind Is My Best Friend (The Simple A.R.T. of Mindfulness): Training My Mind To Help Me Thrive (With Guided Meditations and Affirmations) www.amazon.com/dp/B0997XSJWH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SH8T5E2TTQ52J6NXWPVG

On point. I’ve been getting a lot of downloads while meditating, how we are all literally one thing, the same thing, we are the creator & the creation. It’s kind of huge to wrap your ahead around logically but when you feel it and really know it will click immediately in your being. Abraham Hicks said something along the lines of …”when you realize you are everything, the land, the animals, etc how can you exploit it, how can you exploit yourself.”

“The purpose of the student is to surpass the teacher”. Being one who has been from childhood quite critical of self proclaimed gurus or the like, as they can seriously fuck someone up, but so can doctors, therapists, teachers, coaches, parents or anyone else you put your trust into for guidance AND give them your power. I think the theme for most is empowerment and what is true for you, honoring yourself and harmony with others, and unless your totally disconnected from yourself, that’s what human beings want at our core. Regardless, I have found an appreciation of these way seekers (wether I think they are pure or not) as like attracts like (and yes most opposing are usually most similar, if you take away the labels). Bottom line I think it is wonderful it’s out there (and has saved my butt a few times) but each individual needs to honor themselves. As you may like this part of their message but not that, or agree to a point and then another path is more appealing. And Russell, so much gratitude for you, your a fucking genius! Thank you

I agree with Sadhguru, instead of changing the world, we need to look in the mirror and change ourselves. If we become better individuals, society will become better by default. Of course there will always be certain individuals that have larger reach and abilities that can help a larger mass of people. Of course we can and should be of service to others, but we need to be sure we know and love ourselves in order to truly be effective. But we need to each learn to be our best selves before we can ever even conceive of helping others. Just like on an airplane, you have to put that little mask on yourself before your children or anyone else, because if you don’t you will be useless to anyone if you pass out. Live a life of Krishna/Christ consciousness live a life of love and love will follow. 🕉

Yes, "spirituality" is the answer to all the questions. Simply being aware at any moment to ask the question "does this belief/behavior serve our greater good and/or steer my life in a positive way?" Very often, what we do/think is just to serve (reinforce) our ego or to benefit another entity/individual, who has manipulated us. The more we are aware to ask this, the more positive outcomes we'll have as a collective✌🌱

Pursue spiritual practices. Whatever else you do each day, pursue meditation, some form of contemplative prayer, and communication with God/Source. That connection is where you get clarity, and guidance. Always talk to God about your problems and ask for help. It's a crucial part of the process. Not enough spiritual people are conveying this to others. It isn't just about meditating for 10 minutes a day. Entering a state of thoughtless stillness is just the beginning of the process. The real aim is opening, and maintaining the connection with God/Source. That is how both the individual and society are transformed. All transformation springs from that divine well.

He said so many things that were oddly simplistic sounding, but profoundly meaningful and insightful. I've never heard someone speak quite like he does--especially taking your questions that sound well thought-out and expressed, and replying with "This is what you are asking/saying..." I'd imagine that's somewhat disarming in a conversation, but he also seems to take what feel like deeply complex concepts and make them into seemingly obvious daily observations on a very basic level. It's fascinating; and while he could be considered almost condescending by someone who isn't truly listening, he's got an indescribable type of charm in his self-expression of seeing nearly all world concepts as self-evident. (Also, I can't lie--although I was listening quite sincerely, I burst out laughing at *"Jesus had only 12 people, then also one guy freaked on him, all right?"* 😂 It's accurate enough, but certainly not a phrasing I saw coming.)

I agree that now is the time to transform ourselves. Gurdjieff taught that the darkest of times was an opportunity for those pursuing spiritual advancement to awaken at an excellerated rate. What I personally have witnessed during this time of Covid restrictions is more and more people waking up more and more. At the same time the Universe likes balance, and I have also seen that those who are not waking up, are going deeper asleep. It is what it is, or as we Buddhists like to say, "everything is as it should be.".

Hi! I am a devotee of Sadhguru. His honesty is so generous. It’s delightful to see you engaging in meaningful conversations. Everything Sadhguru utters, I regard as pure wisdom and joy. I wonder what would happen if us humans predominantly and consistently lived in a state of enhanced awareness, grace and devotion. Would consumerism and capitalism collapse? If so, in what kind of environment would we live instead? We can criticise and oppose the unjust system cohabiting us but not even a London homeless person would swap their life with the life of an Indian farmer! So perhaps it’s best to focus on what we all share which matters the most: spirit. To stop identify with our personal individual identity, the body and all material. To use physical codes and information as sacred tools, temples, to unite rather that to fight against. Yoga. I’ll see you in January my friend. Hugs hugs hugs 😅? Sadhguru explains about physical touch and runanubandha. How do you feel about that Russ? Namaste my big little brother.

When he said suffering is at it's highest because most of us are 'taken care of' from a survival pov so we have more time to think, I definitely agree. But then looking at the world today and who's in charge and the fact they have control over basically your whole life is devastating. Our brains are 'too good' really cause we have all this ability but we're in a prison. Then it feels like spirituality would be as much as you can experience in the confines of society.

Aw, I love how non judgemental Sadh Guru is. Very clear and inspiring. The direction of the spirit is an individual journey which doesn't need to be organized by religions and organizations. What is good, vital about programming is to learn clarity of mind through tools that help greatly prioritize health over vice, seek quality time over compulsive behavior. The Higher guide will lead and show the way, but the Spiritual journey is also more than that. Loved it. And I will attend the London 33 Show yay!!! ✨✨✨

It’s absolutely fascinating the times we live in. We have never had this level of communication before. We can write here and it be read with in seconds of publishing or it be read tomorrow or in a hundred years. The evolution of knowledge in spoken word, to written, to translated, to availability has never been where it’s at now. We have now unlocked the ability of spoken word in the infinite realms of time. Knowledge no long dies with the wise it’s is held for eternity.

What an awesomely wonderful man. We are supposed to know how to “be”. Isn’t that the struggle? Really?! We have all of these influences forming and shaping us. We are spiritual beings in a material world. We are at the same time people pleasers and rebels, egomaniacs with inferiority complexes, very smart and oh so dumb, all of us. I am a miracle because I know how to be and who I am. I consider it a tremendous blessing to have been totally broken by addiction because it led me to the Truth. The only real Truth. I am just a normal nobody and I could not be happier knowing that.

I’m in the process of a spiritual awakening, I’ve always known there was something more. I felt trapped in a box since I was very young and just felt as if I was walking through the motions watching many others do the same. It caused others and myself a lot of pain and misunderstanding. I never felt heard and they felt as if I never listened. Society led me to believe there was something wrong with me and I had myself convinced of the same, I now know different. Now that I finally understand, it’s a liberating process. It’s really painful yet breathtakingly beautiful. I feel as if we must allow and guide others to follow through this natural process by not numbing with medications for financial gain. We can’t save everyone, that wouldn’t be following the natural order of life. I’m obviously struggling with the ethics and principals of it all as an ER nurse. I have advocated fiercely for my patients and can no longer reside within the societal constraints of our healthcare system knowing what I know. Can anyone else that works in healthcare help guide me through this mindset? I know I can’t go back, my healing is needed elsewhere.

I don't know what to say that doesn't sound cliche. My gratitude may be matched with the dismay that I can't currently experience all of the beauty like this video and so many others that Russel and his kind are able to scrounge together with such love and inspiration. No lack of things to be grateful for. That would make a good sad song. It would be sad because beauty and sadness go so well together. Some people don't have the circumstances currently to make space to feel the beauty. This is also beautiful in the hearts of some I know.

I agree with Sadhguru completely. On my own path I've come to the same conclusions. When your stuck in Survival Mode (lower three chakras) you don't have time to cultivate the mind. When everyone has the time to cultivate their mind (in Buddhisim it starts off as a rock, with meditation it becomes a flower 🌼 and blossoms especially when meditating and building a relationship with the Divine). We are aware of our suffering because it's the first time we've had the time to look around and say, "Hey, this system that we've had since the Zodical Age of Taurus when cultivation of food started in the Indus Valley sucks!" But as it says in the Christian tradition if everyone cultiavetes their mind/relationship with the Divine by doing personal work- Boom we will be living in a Garden of Minds (Garden of Eden reborn maybe) and, "Everything will be added to you," by the Divine blossoming beautifully on it's own. Can suffering be removed from the Human Experience? Is that our responsibility? I asked Acuyta Bhava Das, a Bhakti Yoga practioner, on his page and he's supposed to answer a question on this topic.

I agree with Sadghuru… Carl Sagan the astronomer from the United States said: “Just now, there a great many matters that are pressing in on us that compete for the money it takes to send people to other worlds. *Should we solve those problems first, or are they a reason for going?*” I have thought about this question a great deal, but the answer is clear… As Einstein said, “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” To solve the problems we have, we cannot use the same thinking which created the problem in the first place. Carl Jung perhaps puts it best… “Man must after all be changed from within; otherwise he merely assimilates the new material to the old pattern.” Real change comes from within and then *necessarily* emanates outwards. Just as “mastering others is strength but mastering yourself is true power.” -Lao Tzu Thanks for this Russell! 👏

Omg he had Sadhguru on the podcast?!? 🤯 I definitely need to go watch that. But I definitely agree with the overall message of the video!! Now is the time for transformation. I myself have personally been in Peru for the past several weeks drinking Ayahuasca to heal and transform myself from the inside out! Edit: I agree with Sadhguru I think that if you can blossom your life from the inside out then positive impact in the world will be a natural consequence of what we have become. In the words of David R Hawkins "We change the world not by what we say or do, but as a consequence of what we have become." For me this hits the nail on the head!
