I watched this clip about 3 month's ago, but chose not to comment on it then. The reason being is my daughter is a dentist in London and i treated her and her boyfriend to try the place out when they could. 100 plus fillings later and after more scale and polishes than she would care to remember they managed to give it a try. In her E-mail to me, she said, i quote, 'OMG Dad this was the best tasting, tender beef i have ever had !!' Needless to say i have ordered a good beef rub and Sauce to make it myself, this arrived today. Gary and Mr Cameraman thanks so much for telling us all about this place. Chris.

I am a huge fan of Jacobs Ladder, I get mine from my local butcher and steam\broil it. It's very obvious watching this review that the meat in this case has been cooked to perfection. I think this is a sometimes not acknowledged or little recognised cut of beef that more should try. I am sure this video will fully reveal what some people are missing, the meat correctly cooked is incredibly tender and flakey. Another great review here, please keep them coming as I am just catching up on this channel.

We have stopped doing the service charge. If the food, service and staff are spot on then we tip. There are so many places where the service, is low or is just so etc etc . Why are you paying more, thats the question. This place is local to me, food looks great, but again I resent having the service charge forced on us.

In this video I agree with you on that you should not be charged for a service charge and a restaurant did that to me and I will not go back because I resent being forced to automatically being paid automatically paying a tip and if I want to pay I will but I don't like the idea and I won't make the same mistake and I only ordered a cheese burger Dx with French fries and a beer came to 20.00 which is kinda expensive but he is right it's a short rib but it's big. But I would like to see the final bill as I am not familiar with the BRITISH pound but it doesn't matter because I am not in England so it doesn't bother me because I am an American and I use the dollar.

In many restaurants the service charge isn't even paid directly to the staff - it's split between the ownership and the staff and its taxed. If you really feel appreciative of your service then tip in cash directly

I have to agree with your score on this one, Gary. That meat looked soooo succulent, & tender! It's so hard to find meat like that these days. Even with the service charge, that was an amazing price for such a quality meat, & beat your £50+ meal, hands down! Lol I really can't blame you wanting to go back there, & I'm hoping to see that, as I continue watching each vid!

Great review - I've been here myself quite a lot (live a 10 min walk away) and slowly been through the menu (food - not whiskey) - nothing EVER disappoints! Their beers are amazing too! Nothing else in the area gets close!

you're always in my area! you should try Steins, a German place. really nice honest German sausages, currywurst, schnitzel etc. there's one in Kingston on the river and also one on the river in Richmond. definitely worth it on a sunny day in richmond in particular.

I’m a bit late to the party on this one but I thought I’d check out your BBQ videos. Great review as always - I think if you stick to this you’ll hit a million subs in a year or two. American BBQ style ribs or the Chinese BBQ Spare Ribs - I’ve loved them since a boy and I’m really glad we are getting more authentic American BBQ in the U.K. , as I think we’ve had to settle for oven bbq ribs from supermarkets for too long.

Over 200 whiskeys! Can you imagine trying all, not all at once obviously, but say over a month or 2... To be honest i don't think I'd know much difference after the 5th 😂 As for the ribs, looked perfect tbh, fell off the bone easily, even coleslaw looked great, & usually not something worth reviewing, but as a side dish great! Honestly your ratio of finding great places to eat must be around 90% or thereabouts 👍 Hopefully you'll have time to go back & try the roast, but i understand as the channel becomes more popular, you can't do everything.. Who knows it might be as good as your recent Miller and Carter debacle 😂 PS I’m with others in this bloody nonsense service charge, for those old enough I’m in the Mr Pink camp 😃 Fortunately it’s a London thing and hasn’t made it to the wastelands that is the rest of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 yet. Quite happy to leave a tip,very often more than the 12.5% service charge but if the staff are surly 😠 and miserable they get the square root of sod all.
