@@Dhorpatan Just one short clarification. Just think what would happen when your brain stops working..? Will you ever be able to perceive or know anything..? And if your brain actually is the only instance which is responsible for your perception (and awareness on a higher level), how can you know anything about reality without it..? You are only experiencing reality cuz your brain/consciousness tells you that (not because there might be (or might not be) a separate reality out there)..nothing more..seems strange, but is fact! If your brain would tell you that the whole reality is a huge cheeseburger, you would simply believe it :-)

@@MrEmotional33 *"how can you know anything about reality without it"* You are espousing the extremely irrational Diaphanous model of awareness. In short, you're claiming reality cannot be known, because it requires a means(the brain) in which to know it. Which is irrational nonsense.

I've spent a while in a floatation tank over the years. It occurred to me, it's possibly a way to know your own awareness independent of objects, or at least get closer to it. Granted, sometimes even after being in there for 45 minutes, you can still hear the odd latent thought and maybe some visual noise. But I've had times when it's just complete nothingness. There's no sensory input, the mind has stopped, and there's pretty much nothing but pure beingness. And, It's very peaceful :)

Namaste, When you say that it's peaceful or nothingness, there is still the "I" experiencing those states, implying duality. In nirvikalpa samadhi the "I" totally dissolves and there is no longer anyone to describe or experience it. Ramakrishna demonstrates this very beautifully with a story: "Once a salt doll went to measure the depth of the ocean. (All laugh.) It wanted to tell others how deep the water was. But this it could never do, for no sooner did it get into the water than it melted. Now who was there to report the ocean's depth?" In samadhi one attains the Knowledge of Brahman - one realizes Brahman. In that state reasoning stops altogether, and man becomes mute. He has no power to describe the nature of Brahman - Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

We know that the perception of a flower is a flower because we were told to believe that, not because we would be able to decode the mystery of perception..nothing more..basically i even don´t know for myself that anything at all is existing (except my consciousness (telling me so), which i likewise will never manage to understand or grasp..

I felt kinda weird, as if something evil and powerful in me got empowered through this realization. Or maybe I became aware of this aspect in myself. When Rupert said that there is only the knowing, when I stepped back from perception into the knowing of perception, I landed there where there is only the knowing. The I know and I asked myself "what do I know" and I answered that I know that I know and that I am therefore I know. I realised that there is only I. But I kinda felt powerful but in a kinda.. evil way? Have I become aware of my destructive powers.. have I become aware of a destructive part of myself, an evil aspect that I have created? Mostly through my pain? I am aware of that therefore it's maybe something mind made, a state of consciousness.

Awareness, under the sway of delusion, causes suffering. There is ignorance There are strategies to find happiness built of ignorance. There is "the limited consciousness of objects of experience" built of ignorant strategies... There are "the limiting concepts and words which refer to the limited forms of consciousness of objects of experience" Made from ignorant strategies. There are Six sense doors, which are used only when; the ignorant mind fabricates a strategy to find happiness and then flows out the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body and the mind as the sixth. When the mind flows out in search of happiness, it contacts pleasant objects, unpleasant objects and neither pleasant nor unpleasant objects, this is called contact. Dependent on contact there is feeling. Dependent on feeling there is desire. Dependent on desire there is sustained obsession. Dependent on sustained obsession there is the ego-birth of the one who will not be happy until it gets what it wants. Dependent on ego-birth there is ego-aging, ego-illness and ego-death. Dependent on the suffering that follows ego-birth there is the ignorance that leads to being born again.

Thoughtless observation Thoughts are created by our language, our culture. Culture is just a way to think, imagination. Imagination is the way we see ourselfs and others around us. Learned information processing. Do we let our imagination, the self image, control our daily actions by bringing images, what causes emotions? Sometimes, yes. Can we control our self-made images? Why not? Psychology has a term, core self. Is it possible, that it is same thing as buddhist call true self, daoist call dao, christians call holy spirit ect.? This is just a opinion, but it might be possible, that we all share the similiar sensation of peaceful, inspiring silence within ourself, but our cultures has very different kind of perspective, like a different angle, what we follow and we make ourselfs feel so much different than others.

This is only half of the story (the exterior excluding the interior). Delusion awaits all those who think they are their own source of life, of consciousness.
@richardleigh40036 жыл бұрын
@@TheWorldTeacher Thanks for the message. What I see is this: that Life is consciousness, supplied by God directly and without condition. God is the source of life, not 'One Reality' and He knows Himself very well indeed, being divinely wise. This world, this Earth, is created yes, and is the natural-world, as distinct from the spirit-world. Which was also created. Further, both worlds are populated by created beings, Men. Some in spirit, some in nature like us. All with free-will as standard, so that they have relationship with God and their neighbours. Karma merely means re-action. Eternity is a about time, which is part of the natural-world, along with space, matter and energy. Genetic science is fake science - proteins do the work of material life. Conditioning is a true effect, resting on education and socialisation. 'Dualistic universe' is phoney thinking - again, God supplies the life and each 'created thing' does what they want with it, for good or evil. In summary, the results of this universe are binary, but not the input. Suffering and pain is inevitable in the natural-world - again, it's what you do with them that is the key. Guilt is an illusion ultimately, since all created beings are immortal in spirit and will sort it out between themselves 'in the end' by apportioning blame and then forgiveness. Blame transfers power to the blamed. Pride precedes a fall, and a fall can be handy if played well. Worry/Anxiety mean 'death' has been misunderstood as something other than a frequency shift. Attachment is not pain or suffering, but the inability to detach certainly is. 'A series of happenings' is reality, not life. To be clear: the divine comes to you, then you do what you want with it. That is free-will. Just because that gift came from God does not mean that God decided what to do with it. The body is of the natural-world and is not the mind. The mind is of the spirit-world, essentially, although it 'stretches' like crazy'. A biological machine is a cell, whereas the mind works more like a river containing the water of life. “You Westerners should look to Emanuel Swedenborg, he is your Buddha.” - DT Suzuki

You are changing the meaning of the word perception. Perception is an ability. I'm aware that I have this ability because of the objects perceived. If there were no objects then there is nothing to perceive. That state is unimaginable other than imagining nothingness which in turn becomes an object or my idea of nothingness. Awareness or Consciousness is not a thing or whatever you imagine separates from the world. But let me say this, think of a round ball, it has no arm that point back to itself, no eyeball that stretches to see itself. The ball is round, and "being" itself alone. Now imagine the ball is the totality of the universe, the totality of all reality. Now dont just imagine, look around, feel it inside of you, it is "actually" what is the situation, not a theory or concept but what is happening to your reality right NOW!

The way he throws around terms like “knowing” is rather imprecise, confusing philosophy and bad phenomenalogical inquiry. The man that asks the question hit the nail on the head, Spira's answer notwithstanding. He just needs to take it one step further: Not only can you be aware only with an object, there is no one aware of the object. There is only the awareness-of-the-object. This may seem similar to Spira's answer, but it's the exact opposite: not even an entity called Awareness is there. There are only objects perceived. Too many aerial concepts in this Direct Path.
