Awesome Movie Sets You Can Actually Visit

What happens to movie sets after filming is complete? While many sets are built on studio lots and unassembled when filming concludes, others are built on-location at sites around the world. In fact, studios hire location scouts to find places around the world to film movies. After the movies are released, these locales become meccas to fans of different movie franchises, who make pilgrimages to these filming locations. Even if you aren’t huge fans of these films, it’s still pretty interesting to check out these movie sets if you’re travelling to areas near them.

There's at least 10 *Peeky Blunders* locations in my city *Broadford* which are used for at least 14 locations in the show. Most of them are just a mile or two down the road from me, and most of them have been used by countless more films and TV shows.

The Ghostbusters firehouse's exterior is indeed in NYC, as you've stated here, however all of the interior shots were filmed inside of a building in Los Angeles.

I once stayed at the Chicago Hilton and Towers (now simply Hilton Chicago). It appeared in "The Fugitive" (1993) in the part right after Sykes shot the transit cop, and the Chicago Police Department actually thought Richard Kimble did it and subsequently labeled Richard a cop killer. I saw their Grand Ballroom, which was the filming location where Charles Nichols was giving his speech about a drug called "Provasic" which he claimed had no side effects, but in actuality, as discovered by Richard, was causing heavy liver damage to it's patients. I saw the entrance room with the clock statue where Sam Gerard, having just been scolded harshly by Detective Rosetti, directed his team to follow along and told Noah Newman to find the hotel security office. It was a great experience.

I'VE been to John Wayne 's Alamo in Brecketville Texas and western town where many westerms were shot. A must see. Also visited Cave in Rock ILL. Where scenes from Fess Parkers Davy Crockett and the River Pirates were shot.

I was able to find the grocery store from the movie Blue Streak, they used the location for the scene where Martin Lawerence shoots it out with Dave Chappelle and the owner has pictures with them autographed and he also has the UZI that Dave Chappelle used inside of a glass box.
