Samantha, most schools + universities in Spain, Portugal or their former colonies do not tie in Spanish culture with Filipino culture. Nor do they introduce basic vocabulary from Chavacano. Some Tagalog words such as nanay + tatay originate from the Nahuatl language, in Mexico. Most of the Filipinos there who are fluent in Spanish are the clergy + the Chavacano speakers. The question re: Filipinos + Latin culture is this: are Filipinos called Asian Latinos? Or are Filipinos called Latinized Asians? 🤔 Entertainment note. Julio Iglesias is a Madrileno. But his wife is from Manila. Thus, son Enrique, born in Spain, is Filipino-Spanish. 🇵🇭

C'mon, he is not. His war medals are all fake. He deserted his combat unit in WW2. He became dictator when he imposed martial law. You may be too young to know what life was under this brutal regime. Worse, you'll be suspected of being a student activist and interrogated for hours. Some didn't made it home. The economy and the gov't coffers was literally bankrupt when they left and fled to Hawaii. Don't believe the revisionist history being peddled by marcos loyalists.
