The toggle switch was nicely done and is an absolute necessity for that solo. Like no pick scrape in the Hotel California solo between Walsh/Felder in their trade off on the live version in the 70s concert vid.

@Dejoblue Ok, your explanation is perfect. I will have to try this out. Do you use phantom power for the direct signal into my DAW or will my DAW (Lambda into Reaper) pick-up the signal from my electric guitar as is? Thanks Dejoblue! :-)

@edla2005 Re-amping is when you record the direct guitar signal into your DAW instead of the signal from a miced amp or the outputs of say an Axe-FX. Now that you have the direct guitar signal you can then send it out of the DAW into any amp rig or say the AXE-FX. This lets you change the tone of the recorded guitar after the fact and also alows for making copies. So, with the one recorded guitar signal you could make 4 tracks(or any number of tracks) all with different amps cabs and mics.

@ThePlaguedRaven Ok. You must be a really nice guy :) I just love guys like this. Didn't your mom ever tell you that if you don't have something nice to say then just don't say anything? Don't take things so seriously, have fun, look in the mirror occasionally just to make sure you are the Deity you think you are. If after you look and you still see a God like being in the mirror, then call for an eye checkup and perhaps some counselling to curb the ego and suicidal tendencies.

WoW. I remember reading an article in "Circus" magazine back in the early 80s. Tipton and KK mentioned how much KISS was an influence on them. Ace Frehley had this certain nuance to his playing that he would use infrequently, especially on the ALIVE album. You could never be sure about the studio tracks because there was no guarantee that Ace was actually playing the leads on the studio albums, as KISS hired different side men to fill in during recordings because Ace would often be too high to play, or he'd blow off the session so he could play poker with his buddies. But that ALIVE album...DAYYYUM. He could shift gears during a guitar lead and modulate his tempo from one phrase to the next and it sounded sooo cool. I'd have to say that this characteristic was his most distinguishing attribute, even though his playing sadly started going downhill in the late 70s because of his drug abuse. Along comes Glen Tipton, and his ENTIRE playing style is like that single Ace Frehley nuance. I can recognize a Tipton lead ANYWHERE. This new kid who replaced Tip is even more pronounced in that style. He's even better at it than Tipton ever was, and it's not easy for me to say that. YOU also have captured it. Your rendition of this solo is not very close to the actual solo Tipton played, but you have that same ability to shift gears. Very nice. It's not easy to do that. The more times I watch this vid, the more I am convinced. YOU have it. No doubt about it.

Just plug 'n go with the Axe FX II - if I could count the hours I used to spend futzing with my rack to get a sound like this, only to have to tear it all apart to make another sound ... to have it all stored and easily recalled in one spot is a god send. Nice vibrato too btw. ( a truly great goofy fun song - I usually add a touch of chorus on this one )

FYI, I wouldn't reply to the trolls, it gives their posts front billing at the top of the comments section. KZbin for some reason decided that you can't hide comments by modding them down enough anymore, I guess because there were too many people who were butthurt that their trolling couldn't bother people anymore.
