I'm glad to see our fast helmet / howard Leight set up is exactly the same! I forgot that you made this video, but I did notice one thing with my set up. If you fully extend the arms, it gives the Howard Leights more room to "Stow" a little better. Have you tried to change the batteries out in this configuration? I seems like it would be a pain to do. I love 4D pads, and it might improve the helmet height over your head for the Howard Leights. I prefer my Team Wendy for this application as it seems that the ear pro cut out is a bit higher than the OPs Core.

Yea, changing the battery is difficult but doable. I swapped to AMPS after this experiment. The HL's square shape didn't allow for full seal on my head and sometimes it got a little "loud".

They work well but I did find that my head shape to helmet combo didn't allow the HLs to seal as well as I'd like or rather the square shape of the HLs didn't mesh as well as the OpsCore AMPs current only there. Others have used these and the Comtac variants with good success, however.

How you going to spend $200 with shipping on the mount and $40 on the actual ear pro??

Well… my reason is that I have 3 pairs of the impact sports used for my classes. I just bought some nods, ops core ballistic lid, these $240 (4/2022) adapters, opscore helmet counterweight, ops core SLAAP plate just because, so add all that up and the grand total is almost $10k…. I can wait to buy $400+ ear pro from peltor or sordin and use what I have for now temporarily.

Found this vid earlier and ended up buying everything. Recently bought some knockoff Amp arms and while they fit my rails, they did not press the cups firmly against my head, leaving a gap. Bad for noise. Returning them soon... All that said, how well do the OpsCore Amp arms work? Press firmly against the head? My only disappointment is the Leight cable length...

Yes, firm. It's force to overcome tensioned and snaps into place. I agree, the HL cables are really short and you can't make full use of the arms rotation.

How do u take off the black plastic parts on the side of the impact sports? I got the headband off but the black plastic part wont come off.

The clips? Turn them perpendicular and apply pressure. See my video on the Noisefighters products.

@@bunnyoperator the black plastic attached to both sides of the headset. The headband was pulled out already. I need to take off the black plastic attachment the is screwed in. In your video you have the headband already off and it’s the 4 plastic ends on your headband. I was able to pull the head band off the black plastic ends.

@@bunnyoperator nvm i figured it out. I broke a part of the nub trying to force the headband arm off. I thought they were screwed on but it was a molded plastic.

they do make gel cups for them. A must have. That said there are much better options these days. Sordin basics for example are not that much more expensive.

What size helmet? I feel like theres not way my L opscore can get away with this. My cable is so short on the HLs can they be stowed up on the helmet for storage?

This particular helmet was a S/M or current Ops-Core M, and it was quite tight with the HL cables. You cannot fully rotate the ears up like with AMPs but they can be secured still. Just not the same way as the AMPs.

Yea, they will do that sometimes. Thats a good thing though. You don't want your stuff falling out from being too loose. I don't like that my Princeton Tech mount moves so easily.

Naw. If you're in a position where you need coms, you're considerably better off getting dedicated, built-in coms headsets.
