An articulate and interesting man who took accountability for his actions and behaviour. He came to the realisation as to what was the most important thing in his life, his wife and children. Life is a journey of self discovery. We live with the hope that in our last breath on this earth that we were at the very least, decent human beings.

@ I had tried several times to quit on my own. Within a few days I’d be right back to the tequila. One Monday, got home hung over AGAIN. Totally disgusted with myself. I got down on my knees and asked God to forgive me for ever letting my addiction get that bad, and asked Him to deliver me from it. He did right then and there. I got up off my knees and the cravings were gone. I’ve never had an urge to drink since.

@@SedB101 For me, I had a desire to change, and a very patient wife who supported my decision to get clean. She put up with my worst qualities and still had faith in me. I also distanced myself from the triggers that would get me in the mood to drink. Which also helped with my quitting smoking. Which honestly was harder than the alcohol.

I could say I wasn't arrogant and from a big family. It did take most of my life to learn to just appreciate things more. You think you do when you're young, but it does take every day of life to learn. I don't think you really know a whole lot till at least after 48-49. You really start to put things in perspective. About 47, I felt little depressed, like I wasted my life and could have done more. I felt out of time to do some things. You really want to treasure life.

He was addicted. He was a womanizer. Society may not see it as such, specially if you are in a rock band; but he sure was addicted. And it was not even sex, it’s the rush of conquering; the being able to say I slept with that woman. And the more impossible they are (like Diana Ross or a married woman) the bigger the thrill.
