Back in my days i'm just so fascinated by the graphic and the next level idea of the world that rogue galaxy created. And i still do now, this game is just too freakin beautiful, it deserves some remaster.

trey tomas not technically.. I actually dl this game for my PS4 and unfortunately some of the screen is cut off otherwise I would play it again. I even tried different settings and sizes on my tv and still some of the bottom and top are cut off. If they fixed this then awesome. I haven't returned to even play this since my waste of $15 ( not the game itself ), but then again this was right at the beginning of the PS2-PS4 emulation.

nastycanadian1975 DAMN! Really?! Well that sucks! It definitely deserves a better remaster then. I was actually thinking about getting it after I play Ni No Kuni (I literally just got it). Sucks you wasted $15 just to come across that problem. Hopefully they fix that problem soon (if not already).

trey tomas I'll keep in mind to upload it again to my PS4 and get back to you sometime tomorrow and let you know if the emulation has either been fixed or improved. But as of right now DON'T get it, and yeah I was pretty pissed off, it was between RG/ or the PC HD port of FFVII ( I can play that 100x's over ) but I wanted something different as I already own VII 100x's over lol xD and Rogue Galaxy actually is one of the best PS2 rpg's I've ever played not coming from the major devs like Square/Atlus/NIS. And i def would buy a $40 PS4 remaster any day for that game. prob won't happen with the emu tho sadly.

nastycanadian1975 Thanks! That'd be great to know. Also what a tough choice - FFVII or Rogue Galaxy. Both great games! Personally my favorite ps2 RPG has gotta be Dark Cloud 2 (aka Dark Chronicle), it comes from the same developers. High recommendation for that gem of a game (if you haven't played it). Still though, would love to have Rogue Galaxy in my ps4 (just hoping it ain't faulty as you said it is).

This is one of my favorite games of all time. Contrary to many of the comments below i dont believe this game needs any remastery. This game was just too beautiful, too enveloping, too underrated and not as well known as it should be. I believe it simply needs a re-release. I would love for more people to play this game and have the same experiences as i did. (yes including the grinding for the damn Deego/Gale fight.

I know I'm ten years late, but here's a cheese strategy for that Gale fight. If you jump slash but let Deego fall ever so slightly so he isn't at the peak of his jump, you'll hit him, and while in the air, unless he's doing his jump shot, Gale can't hit you.

I hope level 5's next game is as beautifull as this game and ni no kuni... Can't wait to see what they cooked up for that ps4 game they are working on... and I am kind of hoping for a hd remaster of this game one day... I don't think it will ever happen. But I miss this game... and playing it in hd would be amazing.

badboy51826 , as much as Ni no Kuni II is a nice game, Rogue Galaxy deserves a MUCH bigger game with more playable characters, say, a party of eight from some planets in the Draxian Empire, so now you can start out with either the party of eight that we know from the Longardian Federation or the new party of eight from the Draxian Empire, more monsters, more Boss Monsters, more Status Effects, more elemental attacks, the ability to summon Quarry Monsters like the Espers in Final Fantasy games, to make ALL monsters be able to fight in the Insectron, to make Insectron creatures be able to be fought in order to be captured, to have a much bigger Hunter List, to make ALL Boss Monsters also Quarry Monsters, to have a much bigger, deeper, more well told, more realistic, and larger scope story that actually involves the Draxian Empire, say, for example, one part of this new story could say that Admiral Banarge is actually faking his peace plan and that he really is manipulating people both within the Longardian Federation AND the Draxian Empire, thus making him a vassal both for Mother AND for the Draxian Empire equivalent being that is naturally called Father, to introduce some bad guys in the Draxian Empire that are also being controlled by Admiral Banarge, more Factory Plans, the ability to carry 99 of everything instead of only 30 to 50 in the terms of HP, AP, and Status Removal Items, to have bigger places to visit on the planets, to have all new planets with really big areas to explore, to have more of those Zodiac Symbols, to use the SP Items, as well as all new SP items, to make the Mariglenn Blade and the Divanti Blade (which is the planet that is the equivalent of Mariglenn in the Draxian Empire), to make the Luvanda Blade, and the Corocaros Blade (which is the Draxian Empire version of the Luvanda Blade) into actual usable weapons themselves, to add more music, to add much better and more orchestral music in the game, to also add new voice talent for the Draxian Empire side of the conflict, to also make more Status Removal Items, as in all new ones, and to finally get wide screen, HDTV, AND 1080P support for this game as well as a variety of languages, both spoken AND written, into the game. Finally, make Jaster and the party lead for the Draxian Empire party be able to be shifted around and replaced like the other characters that are in the game please, okay? Thank you. So, what do you think of my ideas for the game?

badboy51826 , what I am proposing is not a sequel per se, but, rather, it is a MUCH more vast reworking and retelling of Rogue Galaxy with more elemental attacks, monsters, bosses, playable characters, weapons, ACTUAL armor and accessories, and a much deeper, as well as more complicated, backstory, among many other new features in the game. Think of it as Level 5's version of Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, except that, instead of choosing between humans and monsters for your party, you could chose Jaster and company or the lead character from the Draxian Empire and THEIR party members (though you can mix and match them after you get at least halfway through the new game, which is actually after beating the final part of Ghost Ship Extreme from the current game of Rogue Galaxy).

Technically the same graphics engine as Dark Cloud 2/Dark chronicle and Dragon Quest 8 on the ps2. It is technically impressive that they made a mostly seamless RPG world this time. Even Dragon Quest 8 had load times when entering some buildings, but this game seems to have improved upon that and even made the worlds bigger. FF12 had a bunch of load times and small sectioned maps. FF12 didn't even have detailed soft shadows for the characters lmao, but this game DID. FF12 had better high poly cutscenes, but meh. Switching from high poly cutscenes to low quality gameplay was a bit jarring to me. Rogue Galaxy on the other hand had almost the same visual fidelity in cutscenes and gameplay so it felt more seamless. The characters were pretty well detailed for a ps2 game, and honestly more aesthetically pleasing than FF12 or any other ps2 rpg titles, due to the "cel shading" look. It's not really cel shading but rather toon outline graphic technique found in nvidia's toon outline shader mod nowadays. But it's effective. There's no bump mapping or shiny specular maps(eh, the weapons did have shining specular maps) or high rez textures, but the game still looks great. It played to the ps2's strengths which was mostly just pushing out polygons lmao Pushing out polygons fast is great for a seamless world. Bloom effect was great and not overdone.

LEVEL 5 is one of my favorite game developer, they created some of my favorite RPGs Dark Cloud (1 and 2), Rogue Galaxy , Jeanne D'Arc and Ni no Kuni series. too bad, their games are mostly, yokai watch, inazuma 11 and some stuff. im not saying, their bad games, its just that they're not for me.
