I can't imagine a single good reason for not including the headphone jack on THIS handheld. It's not even impossibly thin or even that small. 😔

its just being cheap for the sake of being cheap, the thing already costs a load so doing this is just a slap in the face to consumers

No headphone port, instant YEET I normally would try to be understanding but you can't tell me there's no room in that thing.... The whole point is for the device to be portable and the latency with Bluetooth isnt great.

Yeah that's the thing. I haven't opened it up but c'mon, there's room and bc this is a new shell - they could have made it whatever they wanted it to be. This was intentional 😭😭

You can not tell the latency difference between the two without some form of software informing you.

Fta (for the algorithm) it's weird how I went from not watching any tech to loving LTT, Gamers nexus, fan the deck, retro game core, all from passion that came from that OG steam deck. I appreciate how you put disclosures front and center.

Steam Deck 2 NEEDS a fingerprint scanner..... It would make it so much nicer and faster to unlock than entering the controller combo each time

...and basically no one will used it. Extra hardware and software problems added too. Just add couple/few alternative login methods to choose from using buttons and/or touch screen.

One suggestion: I would have appreciated a comparison of the Slide's speakers to the speakers on the ROG Ally. Things like sound and image quality can be heavily affected by KZbin compression and individual device configuration, so just saying "this is how this device sounds" (even when showcasing where sound comes from rather than how good the sound is) can mean wildly different things depending on who is hearing it and what device they're watching the video on. Folks like DankPods compensate for this in the sound department by establishing a baseline device and playing that first, then playing the subject device and switching back and forth so the viewer can compare the two. If you had done the same with the Ally in the same position as the Slide was with the same microphone settings and positioning and the same audio playing on each device, and switched back and forth between them, it would have been a lot clearer what you mean when you say that the Slide's speakers' positioning impacts the sound quality.

It takes COURAGE to remove the headphone jack from a handheld, especially when we don't even have low-latency audio over Bluetooth yet. Are you supposed to use a dongle?!

Hopefully would like to see an *AyaNeo Slide Dual Screen* in the future. - Replace the keyboard with an equally sized second screen. - Can slide up all the way to the top and even folds down to close like a clamshell. - The second bottom screen can act as a touchscreen keyboard - Can use the device either as a regular candybar handheld or clamshell dual screen - Offer 7"in and 10" screen options - The 2 x 10" screen options could have detachable controllers and act like a dual screen laptop - This will be the most expensive handheld gaming PC...but AyaNeo hasn't been to scared too shy away from that before. I've bought the 10" TJD T101, orders a 64GB RAM + 4TB OneXplayer X1, will double dip on an AMD variant of the OneXplayer X1 and would buy the highest tier AyaNeo Slide Dual Screen 10" if AyaNeo made one this year.

I honestly don’t care about the headphone jack I only use Bluetooth headphones and most games aren’t playing more than 60fps anyways so I’m sold

AYANEO Slide looks interesting if I ever lose half of my right thumb in a bandsaw accident, otherwise asymmetrical thumb sticks aren't something I'll ever consider.

I get why windows people want these. I mean im a windows person on desktop. But man the steam deck interface is just perfect for gaming. Who needs a keyboard! (Joking obviously RTS and other such games use m+k and its great)

I hate it when handhelds are clearly big enough to use bigger sticks but go with the switch sticks anyway. Sticks alone have me 100% convinced the win 4 is the better option

The question with all these handheld PCs comes down to what it does better than a steam deck if its not cheaper or better or more convenient to with you it's a insta no go

I do like the look of it but no headphone jack is strange Also the screen looks so loose when you moved it around, I got a mini heart attack each time you did it that i thought it was gonna break lol.

Yeah I meant to say in the video that even though you can see the screen wobbling as you play it in the video, you don't really notice it when you're playing. Still though, it makes me wonder how long it will last

The very first AYANEO I got was dead on arrival and had to go back to China which was expensive, yeah I'm sticking with my ASUS Rog Ally for now.

I only use Bluetooth earbuds and some with a usb c dongle but I still feel like I'm missing something huge without that earphone jack, there's so much space to put it 😭

This is how the Ayaneo Kun should've been designed. Image an Ayaneo Slide that's the size of the Kun with touch pads? That should've been their primary focus after the Ayaneo 2s.

My gripe is that AyaNeo, actually a good company, still avoids Steam OS, that would sincerely open the capabilities of their devices.

Just got my Slide in yesterday and it's my second AyaNeo device since the original in 2021. I love it so far but haven't had a chance to really try pushing it yet. These games take too darn long to install LOL

I think I would want to wait until a version with a beter screen comes out. And maybe a bigger sized unit. This one looks rather small. So I probably will wait 1 generation or 2

Damn it I love the idea of this thing so much as a retro game playing machine, but I just can't justify it after buying a Legion Go a few months ago. As an actual PC handheld I don't think this would quite do it for me without a track pad. And tbh the lack of headphone jack isn't a deal breaker but I hate to see it because that means if I don't manage my battery powered BT headset well enough I'm just SOL in most situations when I would use this. It has happened many times I forget to charge my headset and I either have to play on mute or use a pair of earbuds.

that was my initial reaction, but 2 usb-c ports kinda makes up for it imo. i ain't love the dongle life, but the steam deck's 2 outputs are less versatile than these two. ...and the steam deck can't use the integrated mics and wired headphones at the same time. wtf! this device sidesteps that shortcoming.

Im lo v ing the reviews. I know it's not quite a handheld but I'd love to see your opinion on the azus rog z13, the tablet thing. Super expensive but seems really cool
