Tom & Aydan - You did a great ob with design, build and install of the frame. It’s integrity held 100% - Body is the problem area in rebuild. Once any body panel integrity is weakened it is hard to get it back to where it was. Your decision but one thing to thin about is putting a 55 or 56 Nomad body of the frame. It will obviously require adjustment but it will look great. Just something to consider.

Aydan, when reporting or teaching make sure you are looking at the camera. When you do not look into the camera it makes us think you are not interested in what you are doing. Remember, the goal of this Vlog is to try and teach us about your race car and your Dad's. When you stare off into space it sends a subliminal message that you do not care. It is also important that you look at your Dad when he speaks. It shows that you two are working together as a team to fix your race car. It is also a sign of respect for your Dad's knowledge. Remember, you are the expert on this car, let us know what is going on with your race car and how you and your Dad will make changes to ensure it is back on the road and track soon. Thank you for taking the time to teach me about your racing, as well as your Dads. You guys are the best in the field of Race Week Racing. Keep up the great work. Never stop being a teacher, and ever forget, the more you learn the less we know about drag racing. It is a complex sport that requires a lifetime commitment if you wish to be the best. Go Team Tom and Aydan Bailey Racing!

A bodyshop with a good frame tech oughta be able to pull it, and square it up relatively easily. Maybe buy that rotted one for parts, even though the correct color is underneath? I mean, patina only goes so far, when everybody already knows the story? At that point it'd be more cool knowing that the car survived the battle!!
@jaratt852 жыл бұрын
Time to upgrade it to a big block, a well built in BB should go as fast as he's been going, adding turbos from there will make it even faster.. like your cars. What's going on with your Nomad that's at the Taylor's shop? Or is it still there? I'd suggest adding more to the cage to help keep the body intact in case of future rolling as Nomads are getting hard to find.

"Changing the body" will not be SBOD. Why not try and fix the dented panels? For the roof you can either find one rusted out, chop the roof and swap it on, OR (2) drill out the roof spot welds , then have a team English wheel it back to straightness. OR (3) make a fiberglass copy of your nomad roof skin,then laminate it to the shell ( nomad roof is shorter,will require a Lil stretching with fiberglass).

Race cars require all the braided hose n 100$ fittings. Yet seem to leak more n have more failures then a factory car.
@iknklst2 жыл бұрын
Do you understand the pressure values here? Nothing in a stock vehicle pushes pressures anything close to what that motor/transmission needs or produces. Any pressurized system you run at 100% or greater will fail, not might fail, it will fail sooner or later.
@NBSV12 жыл бұрын
Would be the same deal in a street car if you blow a head gasket and over pressurize then cooling system. It blows out somewhere. The expensive fittings and hoses are mostly because the race stuff tends to get taken apart much more often and those fitting and hoses hold up much better while still being easy to take apart and put together. Traditional hoses like on a factory car often blow out in a racing application and they get damaged after repeated cycles of removal.
