This is the first time I've heard this song, and I agree with Elizabeth that the rhyming rhythms are really catchy. For more Ayreon: The ENTIRE Album *The Human Equation* :D . It's a musical master piece, as always, and it has a really interesting story where most of the singers portray emotions! But since a whole double album might be a bit much, here's a few recommendations from said album. I believe they performed it live, but I'd recommend the album versions here, since they feature all of the original singers: *Day 2: Isolation* (a long, great intro to the story and an epic song with many singers, including James LaBrie and Irene Jansen) *Day 3: Pain* (features Devon Graves as Agony and a certain Devin Townsend as Rage) *Day 12: Trauma* (dark and moody, with a great "duel" between Reason (Eric Clayton of Saviour Machine) and Fear (Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt)) *Day 16: Loser* (Devin going insane and absurdly good drumming) Another great song from a different album (Into the Electric Castle): *The Castle Hall*

I imagine that getting top-notch vocalists and musicians might be less difficult for Arjen than expected. In all these live performances there seems to be one overriding aspect ..... they all seem to have tremendous fun together. Just look at the big grin on Mike's face when kneeling between Tommy and Hansi during their first "dialog". I know, they're all professionals, but even then they look as having a nice trip to a musical theme park. Probably the largest obstacle for these live performances probably are their schedules. The role of Diplomat - here very well performed by Maggie Luyten - is originally played on TDTWBD by the clean-voiced Michael Erikson as a foil to the voice of Russel Allen as "the President". My guess would be Michael had previous engagements which he couldn't cancel or reschedule.

Yes, I've been waiting for this video for a long time. It's an incredible song and the whole album is worth listening to. This is one of my favourite live performances!

First time I heard Mike Mills was on the querky, yet commercial sounding and extremely catchy "How Do Ghosts Work". I said "Wow this is really good!", second time was him singing Kate Bush´s "Wuthering Heights" in the original key. I said "wow, this guy can sing really high", third time was him doing "Bohemian Rhapsody" alone, singing all parts and strumming an aucustic guitar. I said, "wow this guy is clearly nuts"! I really love Mike Mills and Toehider. He´s doing streams on Twitch pretty regularly where he sings all sorts of ditties, many by request. Funny thing about that band is that Mike Mills does everything musically speaking, the other guy - Andrew Saltmarsh - is an artist who does all the artwork and also draws during their Twitch streams as Mike is singing and playing. Anyway I urge anyone who has not heard Toehider to look them up! It´s pretty brilliant! As for particular songs, I´d recommend Elisabeth and all her nerdier fans to check out the Skyrim inspired power metal romp "How Much For That Dragon Tooth?" kzbin.info/www/bejne/goizfWCvgNaKfac

You can clearly all the singers and musicians love to join Arjen with his projects. They are smiling the whole time, that says it all!

It's been over two years since you've done some Ayreon. Might be time for Ayreon- Garden of Emotions. You'll get to hear Arjen sing.. plus other amazing singers.

Great stuff! Hoping for a similar spotlight on Ayreon's Isis & Osiris performance from 2019 at some point in the future.

Elizabeth, thank you so much for your reactions to such broad vocal talents. I once thought no words could express Arjen's genius of musical and vocal compositions but you make me beg to differ. This man has opened my eyes to a musical universe that I thought was going extinct and his supergroup compolitions are truly inspired in Heaven. One suggestion; have you heard of Maria Brink from 'In This Moment'? Two songs of their debut album 'A Beautiful Tragedy' are 'Prayers' as well as the song's album namesake 'A Beautiful Tragedy' I highly recommend for response. Keep up the good work beautiful.

To experience the range and diversity of Mike Mills, I recommend checking out his own project Toehider. He's from Melbourne, Australia- my hometown! Very diverse songwriting and vocals. Extremely talented!

Could you please, please pretty please do another Hansi Kurch? Last time you did The bard song where the crowd sings most of it. I would LOVE it if you do the Demons and Wizards live at Wacken 2019 show. The quality is great. I think The Fiddler on the Green is one of Hansi's best there. But Love's tragedy asunder is also great!

Despite having listened to all the Ayreon albums multiple times over the year, I’ve never watched a video of a live show before, and now I suddenly wish I’d been one. Maybe someday! Great analysis!

From Ayreon Universe I would recommend Day Sixteen - Loser, which has Michael Mills doing a lot of interesting stuff and Collision which has Tommy and Marko Hietala pretty much roasting each other for 3 minutes. Also from Into the Electric Castle, there's Cosmic Fusion with Simone Simons giving one of her best performances ever

Arjen is such a genious! Composition beyond this world, and with so many incredible artists performing.. Each Ayreon song is truly a masterpiece! Side note: I love it when you get all giddy and exited :D Your reaction to the ending is precious :D

Elizabeth, glad you found your way back again to Ayreon. I loved your reaction, it is indeed a mindblowing peformance an Michael Mills just doesn't get te recognition he so much deserves. For a future recommendation I think you just can't ignore Arjen's favourite performance of this concert (and there are almost no reaction videos made with it). Look up And The Druids Turned to Stone from this same concert. Damian Wilson is the lead singer and for me he is the male counterpart to Floor. If you're in the mood for something with more substance in the lyrics I would highly recommend Twisted Coil. The Music is by Arjen but the lyrics by his girlfriend Lori and they are meaningful, disturbing and facinating, it is my personal favourite performance. If you go that route I would recommend reading the lyrics before reacting.

I think the best part about Ayreon as a project, in my opinion, is ho wmuch fun everyone is having. You can have the best singers in the world, but if they don't like what they're doing, it will show immediately. Everyone on this stage has been a part of at least one or two of his projects before, some being on multiple albums. The fact that they keep coming back, and even come to do rare performances together says so much about Arjen's work ethic and their interactions. I just really, really love seeing super talented and amazing performers getting along and making such incredible music together. It just fills my heart. I tried thinking of another Ayreon song to reccomend, but there's just so many great songs, so I'll let others in the comments reccomend instead and support each and every one of them.

After all this years listening to all this bands and struggling to find the right words to express what I´ve been enjoying, It is really satisfying to have found the perfect place where there is an actual analysis (not only the vocals) from someone who actually appreciates about whats going on. And your reactions...UNIQUE. Also, may I give a recommendation?, Please: "STRATOVARIUS - Elysium" (kind of long, but worth every second of it).

With regards to Maggy having a deeper voice than the others, in this concert she also sang the parts of the original singer, Russell Allen (a guy obviously) in the song Intergalactic Space Crusaders :)

I'd love to hear more Ayreon! It's so hard to pick one good song though... There are just so many from all his different albums. Is love to hear more of Floor Jansen and Tommy Karevik as well. From Seventh Wonder, I'd say Welcome to Mercy Falls and from Kamelot, either Under Grey Skies or Phantom Divine. Love your videos, Elizabeth. I learn so much and they always put a smile on my face. You've given me a new appreciation for music.

I LOVE Toehider. I would recommend just starting with the most recent, the album "I LIKE IT" released in 2020. The entire album is a smorgasbord of styles, with stuff from heavy speedy metal to folksy stringed acoustic instruments to weird proggy stuff with almost no way to describe it! He has more than a few video playthroughs of his songs off this album on his channel with him playing every instrument (and he's really good at those too). Maybe start with "How Much For That Dragon Tooth?"
