It's kind of ironic that looking at the decision to stop the race early 32 years later that the decision ended up favoring Senna more than Prost. Toleman mechanics later said that Senna's car was running with a damaged suspension that was going to break at any minute so Senna would have been forced to retire in a few laps. On the other hand, this race probably cost Prost his first championship because only half points were awarded and we all know he lost the championship by half a point.

Prost said he spoke to Gilles few years before and Gilles said "Alan I'm sure we can't get hurt in F1,believe me" some months later Gilles died. Prost also had 3 accidents during tests in the early 80's so he said that made him think about all his racing style and follow the idea that "the less you race the less you're in danger of dying" "the smarter you race, more points you'll score in the end of the season"

The irony is that if Prost and McLaren had not agitated to end the race early while Prost still led, in a longer race, he might well have finished 2nd to Senna and gained 6 points instead of 4 1/2. He lost that years Championship by 1/2 point. Won the battle, lost the war.

Prost hated Senna. When he saw that Senna was going to beat him. He waived to official to stop the race. F1 cheated Senna out of that win. What a bastard. Senna would have went on to an amazing career in F1 had he not died. Happy birthday Ayrton. RIP.

I am the biggest Senna fan you will ever meet, but even if Prost did call to end the race, its a legit move, Prost did not "cheat" the win nor did F1. If you call this cheating then Senna cheated a lot too, he did crash into Prost in the first Corner of another GP so Prost can't finish the race to gain any points because Senna was already winning, and it was the last race, so Senna crashed right into Prost on first corner, it's all strategy. Not cheating.

Justin Su Prost did not cheat ill give you that much. However the Fia was governed by french officials. Balestre favored his countrymen which is not fair and impartial to the other drivers. When senna crashed into prost's ferrari the incident was not looked into because they knew senna had written an injustice and the fans & other F1 teams would ride their asses to hell if they dared to punish him. Did you even know that ayrtons pole position in suzuka was changed to the dirty side of the track? why french officials.. Are you really a senna fan??

Ellemerob And Senna never had a problem starting on that side of the grid when he had pole at Suzuka in 1988 and 1989 did he. And both times, like 1990, he was fighting Prost, alongside him on the grid, for the championship.

Only because Prost asked that Senna join McLaren in 1988 when the team chiefs wanted to sign Piquet. Prost wanted the younger driver because he felt it would be better for the team. Senna by contrast would not allow Derek Warwick to join Lotus in 1986. His motivation was to seek personal advantage rather than looking out for the advantage of the team.

Bearing in mind, how old he was, when he got killed? 5 more titles? I have serious doubts... 94 would have become really difficult after three DNFs, 95 even more with a Renault-powered Benetton, maybe 96 and 97, but later, he would have been almost 40...

@@scottpedroley5851 Senna knew he could not beat Prost without Honda helping him, even then he was very lucky in 1988 and he had to resort to the most dangerous deliberate collision ever in F1 to prevent Prost from winning in 1990, Senna was more than lucky to get away with that, any other driver would have been kicked out of F 1, especially since Senna was let off lightly the previous year after being found guilty of dangerous driving.
