The key ingredients Indians use are fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, hibiscus, aloevera, henna, coconut oil, castor oil, almond oil. One recipe that abosolutely works is boiling or infusing fenugreek seeds, aloevera stem, curry leaves, hibiscus flower and leaves in coconut oil. Boil it till all the ingredients turn black and then filter it and use it for oiling.

I'm Indian and I have hair till my waist, I had a hair cut an year ago, had above shoulder length and my hair grew back to waist length in about 8-10 months. 3 things I swear by is oil your hair( any oil that is available locally to you) every three days or even once a week. 2. I use Reetha nuts and Shikakai to wash the oil off, but even shampoo is fine. 3. I always use cold water on my hair, I bend my head under the tap . There you go! The secrets of an Indian girl :)

In the Caribbean we do this every Sunday! In the “ol’ days” it was a great way for all the grans, mums, aunts and daughters and female cousins and girlfriends to gather and share our weekly events and of course gossip 😉. We’d also teach each other new ‘platting’ (braiding) styles and techniques, especially to the younger girls. The men would disappear out the house to play dominos somewhere. God help the males who stuck around to ‘mess round’ with us! I so miss those days. Thank you for all your dedication and information. I’m a mixed Afro-Caribbean-Taino Indian-Puerto Rican chik with 3b -4b hair who’s older with disabilities and some hair loss. I’m trying to return to my roots and use more natural oils to treat my hair and hopefully grow it back healthy and long. @priscillasmith17137 жыл бұрын
I guess early graying can be genetic, but you should try antioxidants. Antioxidants help the body to detox irons, heavy metals from our bodies, which can contribute to graying. Think of a metal pipe laying outside. If you cut it in half, it will start to oxidize (rust). But if you do what you can to stop it from oxidizing, it will still oxidize, but at a slower pace. Hope this helps!

I can't speak on massages because they tangle my hair does more harm than good. HOWEVER, I do believe your original henna oil recipe (minus the msm and vitamin c and with the addition of green tea, nettle tea, peppermint tea, hibiscus tea, moringa powder, mustard seed, and sesame seed) have made a difference in my hair. I'm currently transitioning from a relaxer. Early in the summer before I started protective styling, my 6 months of new growth measured at 3inches. I was able to use the oil consistently because it was too heavy for my loose hair. Now at 9 months, my new growth is at 8 inches 😁👏🏾 There's a possibility that my new growth will be 10 inches after just 12 months of transitioning! I've just recently added my own version of the tea to my regimen 😉 thank you for these recipes!!!

While it's too soon to say I've had growth, I will say that my nails have never been this strong. They always grow very fast but now they are THICK! My hair definitely felt a bit dry after using all of the Ayurvedic herbs in the mask, but I deep conditioned and heavy oiled with coconut oil and that took care of it. Still see hair fall, but it is quite a bit less. I'm excited for my 90 days length check. Excellent advice! Thank you!!! You're amazing!

Probably the best video I've ever seen in my 10 years on KZbin. I sincerely appreciate this! I've been at the same length for the last 3 to 4 years and I'm really discouraged. Discouraged to the point where I've been wanting to just chop all my hair off or relax my hair out of rage. I try not to let my length bother me because there are more important things in life, but, sometimes, I can't help but get really depressed about it. Especially when I see people who went natural a few years after me (I've been natural since 2010) but have so much more hair than I do. I feel like I do healthy things but maybe it's time to change up my routine. And being iron deficient, I need more of a boost than those who don't have that problem. I really want to try everything you said. Hopefully, I can get all the products once my financial situation gets better. This is the first video of yours I've seen. You just got a new subscriber!

I'd like to see someone who has struggled to grow their earlobe length hair ALL of their lives and stumbled across this recipe and now their hair is on their tailbone. If you've had long hair all your life, relaxer or not, it kind of disqualifies you to talk about hair growth when it has NEVER been a struggle. Keep it real with the people especially those who have struggled all their lives to obtain strong healthy long hair.
@GooGoo02137 жыл бұрын
Shelia T Please consider the practices she recommends are simply that, recommendations. They merely supplement and enhance healthy hair practices. I humbly recommend you try one or two for yourself and be that earlobe hair length beauty whose testimony is I grew my hair waistlength (or whatever your desired goal is). Also, please check out Kimmay tube videos on KZbin. She's not into Ayurveda per se but her testimony is that she's always had a teeny weeny afro (twa) most of her life and after some researching and reading scientific hair publications, twice she has grown her hair to her waist...her videos chronicle her journey. Its not our hair that the problem, its what we put on it and/or do to it (including health issues) that prevents it from blossoming in most cases.

I really want to see my hair in its strongest and healthiest state. I'm so interested in incorporating natural oils and herbs that can be used all over the body. Thank you so much for sharing 😊

HI!! I'm a new subscriber. My sister is having great results following you. Her hair is more beautiful than its Ever been. It is down her back, beautiful lustrous curls. I'm looking forward to my growth, lots of heat damage but I am inspired. I'm awaiting my products ordered over the weekend. I look forward to sharing my results. How often should I exfoliate the scalp?

I actually do the scalp massage pressure points you talked about, and it helps a lot with my migraines. I've gone from having migraines everyday to once a week. But I never knew it could also aid in hair growth! Thanks for another great video!!

Aminata Jamina Definitely trying this now that I know it also helps with migraines! That's a 2 for 1! Hopefully, I can stop squeezing my temples as hard as possible to get relief. Lol but it works.

This is an awesome video and I'm no way hating, but I do feel the need to point out that it's written and pronounced AYURVEDA. I know it's probably just a misunderstanding since the pronunciation of the word in English is a bit funny but I felt the need to say it 😊 but your video is awesome and has amazing advice and explanations, so thank you for sharing!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Am From India . Fridays were our hair wash days . Oil massages every other day were a must . We washed our hair with a home made powder: Shikakkai + Alma+ Curry Leaves ( dry) +Reetha : equal quantities washed dried and powdered . We also soaked and ground fenugreek seeds mixed with yogurt as a mask every weekend . Hair oil was 1 Cup coconut oil heated over low foam in an iron skillet with a curry leaves, fenugreek seeds and fresh aloe Vera goop . After using these oils and masks we would wash it off with the Shikakkai Reetha Alma power air dry other hair then heat some coal in a skillet , put some raw Benzoin over the hot coal and let the smoke through our hair . This weekly ritual will conclude with a hot brew made with herbs of choice . In my house it was fenugreek and curry leaves steeped to make a tea or boiled for a brew with treacle for sweetener

Love the level of scientific explanation you put into these videos. Got me with those "disulphide bonds"! Yes! 🙌🏾 You're one of *very few* people who give scientific facts with their recommendations. As my background is in Bioscience I'm more inclined to believe tips from someone who's not only seen results but understands and explains the science behind why these things work. Thank you for what you do. It's great to see someone studying our kind of hair and what's best for it- *and* educating others too! 👏🏾 😊

theBlackPen Hi. Neuroscience here! The skeptic (or researcher) in me is always seeking a scientific explanation or else the hair product junkie in me would be broke. With some people/products, I wonder if the hair growth is due to the ingredients or is it actually retention or from actually washing and tending to their hair more often, which is required in order to use the product. Anyway, thanks for all that you share, Curly Proverbz!

Yes hibiscus is the best. Carribean people use it to wash the hair especially when they have dread locks. Just blend it or smash in a bowl until it becomes slimy and it will do wonders.

Curly Proverbs, what growth product do you recommend for people who actually enjoy their gray hair? I don't want my white hair to be stained. I love your green tea rinse (yes, it stains slightly, but I really need the strengthening amino acids, and I follow it up with a deep conditioning. Aussie Moist as a follow up keeps my snowy white hair white).
@TemptressMoon7 жыл бұрын
ShaunieBNaturalista cassia instead of henna. It's very similar to henna but won't die the hair. Blonds and grays use it in the same way you can use henna for strengthening and growth.

Hey love egg treatments are great and cassia is a neutral version of henna! However some people do find it stains slightly... so I recommend a strand test. Xox

I am a mixed girl who only really became interested in growing my hair quite recently as I did not really believe I could grow longer hair before but through educating myself I have seenx results! I've only recently started doing daily head massages and I wasn't sure if there was any specific way or technique to doing them so again thank you for this xx
