I enjoyed your review and was happy to hear about the entertainment upgrade. I took the Journey from Singapore to Dubai last year and had a great time. Except, the in room movies were largely kiddie movies chosen by a 12 year old. I thought this was really awful given that I travel solo and enjoy watching a good film in my cabin on sea days. Also, the average age on the ship for this trip was around 65 or 70, and there were no children on board. Hopefully it won’t take too long as I am booked through the Suez in 2020

Hi Richard. Thanks for the comment, and for watching too. As far as I'm aware, the upgrades have not happened yet, but I'm sure they will at some point soon and I'm guessing well before you sail in 2020. :)

I noticed in your cabin there were 4 full bottles of liquor and a bottle of wine. Very civilized. How did you get them aboard? Or is liquor included?

These were included in our club veranda plus stateroom category when we sailed - not sure if this has changed now, it was almost three years ago and the brand has changed hands since then so 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks! Yes, we have paid for every cruise we have ever been on up to now except this one, where we were guests of Azamara as it was the last 4 days of a full cruise. :)

Really hate those old R class ships. Cabins and bathrooms are way too small for the prices charged in today's market. Calling that bathroom small but handsome is overstatement!!! Those are again very small by today's luxury standards.

Their interiors look like a modern version of the old steamers from the early 20th century (Titanic, Lusitania) but very small and expensive for today's standards I guess...
