Watching this makes me sad... This is a positive spirited, pre-Twitter feuding Azealia. She was on such a good track, 1991 EP was a great introduction to her and gave great promise of what was to come. Too bad the her attitude and the negativity kind of stalled that excitement and overall interest in her. I'm still looking forward to the album, but it should've been out a long time ago.
@whydontyouhateme5 жыл бұрын
She was physically and mentally abused by her managers for years, her 'attitude' is definitely not the problem.

I get happy seeing old and new Azealia. She's grown so much and I love how she puts everything out fearlessly, many people get the wrong idea of her but she's just perfect imo. Nothing can change her except the growth in herself and I can't say that for many people. It's so inspiring seeing someone standing up for themselves even at a time when it felt like the whole world wanted to bring her down, probably out of their own fear, idk.
@brandonparker66963 жыл бұрын
@fred d she's doing what she wants whenever she wants and that is fearless. Azealia is honest and tells it how it is. These big name artists lie and put on this big smile when really they're awful behind closed doors.

it’s stalled her bad. her opinionated personality would be perfect for radio, but she’s not a radio host, she’s an artist and that’s why people get upset when she shares her opinions on things. it’s even worse now in 2023. she’s lost herself bad.

She is a product of her intelligence...this interview shows just how articulate and intelligent she is (for ANY girl her age), and her incredible wordplay in her music can only come from the mind of someone intelligent (go read the lyrics to Liquorice...they're almost Shakespearian at times) Good rap requires incredible intelligence

You should listen to the interview. The word wasn't used to replace concepts. It was used mostly as a sound in between words. Basically its a part of her English dialect. Furthermore, the way she juggles perspectives in her musical lyrics is a witness to how articulate she is.

@MusicViaTim it's also a harlem thing to represent where you're from. I'm sure she had pressure from her parents to be sure that this is what she wants to do in life and to be successful. I know most Carribbean parents they want you to go off to college/university or get a really good job after high school so she has to prove to them that she's going to be excellent. It's just a competitive attitude. She's not trying to be a snob or anything that's how a lot of young women talk. :)

I have heard plenty of of celebrities use the word umm and err fillers. Fillers are common when the conversation is not scripted. It does not mean that the person cannot express themselves. Most of the times, it is a way of filling in a pause, to complete the next thought. But the thought is expressed successfully. And her fillers were not that many, besides the comments I really had not noticed, because these words are so common and you hear them a lot.

English is a term to refer to the language of those who come from England, a country within Great Britain (a region of the British Isles that consists of Wales, Northern and Southern Ireland, Scotland, and England, along with a series of commonwealths and provinces). British English = Many different accents, often influenced by celtic languages that have nothing to do with English at all. English is the appropriate term when referring to English spoken from England (ie the country of origin).

People don't choose how they can speak naturally. Some people may force it but they have a natural accent or way of speaking that they're hiding. But being from Harlem doesn't any less likely that she doesn't normally speak like that. I'm a black girl and I speak similarly to her. I don't fake it. The colour of your skin doesn't change the way you speak.

she doesn't sound GHETTO if thats what your getting at but she does sound like she grew up in a black community. she doesn't sound white at all, just a non ghetto black girl. that doesn't mean she doesn't sound black, she still talks like she's of that culture. you must not have grown up in that culture if you are unable to tell. its like when you have a foreigner visisting a town, it usually harder for them to tell a difference the lighter the accent.

@MusicViaTim Plus the Indie community spits out different hit bands all the time then they move on to the next thing. I don't think they rule the music industry though. The people outside that scene are just as successful. I'm glad she's so versatile and is doing different songs that are not like 212. She's better than Nicki in my opinion. I feel her and Iggy Azalea are going to help bring more variety to the female hiphop scene. ;)
