A Very LONG Service Call on a 2008 Beaver Marquis

Long story short, the Valid air leveling system on this 2008 Beaver Marquis stopped allowing air into the air bags in a very remote location. Between overbooked mechanics and location, the owner could not get roadside service in order to bring it to a service station. So I decided to help.
I took a lot of video so I think this will be a two part.
Thanks for your patience, this road call really threw off my schedule. So editing has been difficult.
Thanks for watching!!

When Andrew Steele introduced you last year ,to the KZbin people, it has turned out that you’re showing just enough of what we need to learn and probably won’t, about our rv’s. Please keep doing what you do, it has made me look differently at how to maintain my rv.

I'm a heavy duty diesel mechanic and I specialize in suspension and driveline. I never would have figured that out! I would have bypassed the problem by plumbing the air ride like an old school semi truck, completely negating the self leveling. Good work, your totally right about it being a niche repair.

My 06 Patriot Thunder has the leveling control panel in the same place, under the side window, if the window leaks or you forget to close it you get water all over that side console, Beaver/Monaco should have installed it some where else. The HWH system on my coach has a manual override to place the system in travel mode just in case.

Great job. You could build air much faster by either setting the high idle control or simply mashing the accelerator down to say 2000 rpms, this is also better for the engine to run high rpms if you must idle for more than a few minutes. All large diesel engines are very happy with high rpms. The engine governor control will protect the engine from too high of rpms, in case anyone is concerned. Thanks for sharing.

We had a Wanderlodge owner loose his hydraulic fan motor. Fan went into the radiator. He left it near Naples FL at a mom and pop store. I and another local owner helped him get the rad out. He rented a van and left for a week. We, I and the other local owners) agreed to take turns watching his bus. He (coach owner) gave some money to the store owner. It worked out. This makes me wonder if that pad was set for a different coach in firmware. Don’t do as I say lol

I had a semi that was running a load to Canada and in Montana the ride height arm came loose. I had heard the sound of tires on the bottom of a trailer before. I dropped the trailer in a large pullout and was able to reach in over the frame and reconnect the arm. No way was I going to crawl underneath and mess with the air suspension. It did it several times before I could get into a shop. Got it down to a 15 to 20 minute repair.

So I just stumbled onto this video a year after the fact. After watching I have to ask why the first trouble shooting step wasn’t tried before you flew to Arkansas? I have fixed home AC units, clothes dryers, cars, refrigerators, sound systems, etc. By trying the most basic primary trouble shooting step. So a call and a part sent to remove 4 screws and swap a plug and play board seems like a no brainer to me. Obviously it would get the RV drivable to get it to a more robust examination and repair facility. I’m just saying. ☮️
