I don't really follow keyboard stuff but why do people hate browns? Blues are too dang clacky, but I like having some tactility rather than linear switches 🤷🏻‍♂️

theyre super scratchy and they just arent a good tactile switch overall. there are much better tactile switches out there.

Bobau4ts are awesome tactiles and you can make them thocky (i think)

i really like these kinds of keyboards, i had two i really liked but they often dont last. so you gotta consider that given the price for some of these i had a quite mechanical which i liked a Lot. and used it all the time for gaming and typing articles. and i had another similar not as quite. it makes no sense to charge people a high price that will just fail shortly after. keys start failing one at a time in my last two. keys will stick in the software not so much the mechanical part.

Two factors at play are: 1. Mechanical keyboard preference is a personal choice and it's hard to try out in real life. As a result, you have to go through a boatload of online content or blow money to hone down on what you like. This also rewards OCD behavior, with there always being one more obscure switch or keycap that can make something. 2. The KZbin game. You have to constantly put out content (at least 2-3x / week), so you need to talk about every minute detail on keyboards and make something catchy to keep people watching.
