Thanks for your recommendations in this video! My Yukon demonstrated similar symptoms to what you described. I replaced the spring for the safety, polished and filed the underside if the slide, polished the feed ramp and replaced the extractor. It ran flawlessly today with two different types of ammo. Stock mags and shot reliably and accurately. So much happier now than when I first shot it. Saved gun smithing fees by doing the work myself. I now agree with your comment that this gun compares to much more expensive 1911s. Super happy with my purchase!

I adjusted my extractor, polished the feed ramp just a bit and it made a world of difference. I took your advice and ordered metalform magazine to try and will be rounding those edges on the disconnector rail tomorrow. Thanks! I love this gun, love the looks, the balance and how it shoots.

Thank you for this information! Buying this gun tomorrow and this will help make it a keeper.

I installed the Nighthawk extractor and I'm sure it'll make a difference, but the single most significant fix from this video was removing the breach face chamfer from the factory and turning it into a radius that is polished to a mirror finish along with the feed ramp. A file like the one in the video and a Dremel tool got the job done. The Flitz metal polish mentioned in the video is what you want to use. No need to take it to a gunsmith if you can handle both of those tools. As soon as I did that, the gun ran beautiful and it didn't matter what mag I used. I bought Wilsons and Tripp Research thinking that's the issue and now they and the mags that come with it just work. Problem solved. I now have a beautiful 10mm 1911 that runs and I can trust as a carry firearm.

Ahh, that what those scrape marks were from. Thanks. Have taken my 1911 completely apart, so this should not be a problem. Great video

As a Glock guy, my Tisas Yukon 2-Tone has been a nightmare! I have tried different mags, then different extractors, tried tuning the extractor, and even sent the pistol back to Tisas. It runs great for about a magazine or so, then starts choking. Tisas said they tuned the extractor and polished the feed ramp. Still chokes. I polished the chamber and it ran much better, but still not 100%. I will try smoothing out the disconnector rail next and see if that fixes it. I love the size, trigger, and accuracy. Just need it to run!

The #1 problem with this gun is the disconnector rail which needs to be radiused as I explain in this video. #2 is the extractor. Once I fixed both I have had 100% reliability with all 10mm mags I own.

I have a G20 gen 5 w exactly the same double feeding/ jamming problems. Same case metal shearing bits all inside the slide & the same stupid knife sharp square edge you rounded off. Followed suit. All nice and shiny & ROUNDED now. Checked my XDM-E, Same part is square but no sharp edges like the Glock. IT has NEVER failed no matter what I feed it. Loves Underwood & Buffalo Bore hot bear rounds. Did find a tiny bit of brass case particles. Rounding that leading edge tomorrow. THANKS for the heads up!! More tools in the home gunsmith library.

Great video. Did the extractor and disco rail fixes and made huge difference! Having trouble finding +10% mag springs. What exactly am I looking for and where can I find it?

I might also add an EGW Flat Bottom Firing Pin Stop to help slow down slide unlocking.

Man I can’t seem to find a single 10mm 1911 that doesn’t have issues

I have this exact gun and it’s a beast, eats up Underwood 180grn XTP’s and range ammo all day. Turkish guns can be just as good or better than our beloved American brands that have bloated prices & poor QC before leaving the factory. I’ve had junk cheap Turkish guns, and I’ve had expensive junk American guns. Check each gun in person before purchase or your rolling the dice no matter who built it or how much $ it costs.

L.M.A.O! NOTHING compares to American made 1911's!

Have you seen Colts “QC” lately? Or Kimber or Fusion? They aren’t all roses

I have had similar experiences as of late. A number of recent American brand 1911's, including a high-end one had significant quality issues out of the box. Two even had some MIM parts that prevented trigger work from being done on the stock parts. I would prefer to buy American made 1911's but I am no longer under the allusion that they will all be carry ready out of the box.

@ Yes! It’s not so hard for people to admit after they actually buy and test these guns! How are you liking the Yukon Carry?

@@dylanunderpar I have never had an issue with any Colt 1911 none whatsoever, I tried a RIA 10mm and it went back to RIA and then sold . I will not invest in anything having to do with a supposed ally that undermines us at every step.

LOVE your channel sir, but as a gunsmith, I just will not spend money on Turkish garbage. They use inferior metals and other parts in their firearms. Spend the money on an American made Wilson combat, Ruger, Smith&Wesson, or Colt so you don't have to change out a bunch of parts trying make these run.
