Excellent review of an awesome pistol. Accuracy and short trigger reset are outstanding on this pistol. The pistol is so well engineered on all levels.

The PPQ and VP( have the best ergonomics out there for striker fired guns in my opinion. I just got a 5 inch PPQ 9mm, awesome gun.

Excellent review. I like the way you circled the groups. That's a great visual aid. Btw, the PPQ has done very well in various torture tests, and is considered a combat ready pistol, especially the Navy model, which has some additional drainage features in slide and striker, though the standard model does well in dirt and water tests as well.

Best weapon for guys with big hands. I changed my sights to tru Glo. Orange front green back. It came down to CZp10c or this. The trigger is what sold me

The grip isn't the same length as the g17/vp9/509, it's just the slide height is taller and the rear sight is taller as well. Making the gun around the same overall height but not the same grip length. Good review, subscribed

The PPQ's sold outside the US have steel sights. I don't know why we got shafted.

The good trigger on the PPQ can make you a better shooter, that's from my experience.

The sight mounting is the same as a Glock on the front sight it's the rear sight that after market sight maker's don't want to retool for thus limiting your choices.

Your accuracy comparison was great. Would like to see me more 'reviewers' do this instead just plinking steel plates and they don't even tell how big the plates are. haha

The best polymer trigger out of the box . I find the trigger pull a little to light for carry .

Good video. I appreciate the target comparisons. I don't think, however, that the dovetail has anything to do with the lack of aftermarket sight options. Glock has more available than anyone, and they don't dovetail their front sight either. In fact, I imagine it's even easier to manufacture a Walther PPQ- or Glock 19-style front sight because there is less milling and material involved with the sights. What about muzzle flip? I buy that the recoil is on par with the Glock because they're comparable weights, but the bore axis is higher and, in most videos, you can see it flipping more (and certainly most people note if not complain about it). I know both recoil and muzzle flip can be affected by hand-shape and technique, so it's somewhat subjective, but it's also rooted in physics.

Also after i got I started carrying this. I said bye bye to my Glocks. Glock is still the best platform to learn how to shoot. Price point. Stay away from SW. it’s garbage unless ur broke. Then get a canik used.

I love my PPQ classic. I wouldn't call the M2's mag release ambi. I would call it armorer reversible. Yes you can change the button side. But try putting the gun in your off hand and you cant operate the release as normal. But on the Classic you get a truly ambi experience. The gun works the same way in both hands. I've never understood why US shooters prefer the button release. Most of the shooters I've ever seen have to reposition their hand to use the button. My only complaints are Q5 version isn't available in paddle mag release and the 40 paddle release isn't made anymore. Good video ty.

I am a big fan of mine. I'd really like to get my hands on a Q5 Match upper and marry it to my M1 lower to eek out some more accuracy and speed. If only we could get every glock owner to try one. If you add the price of a glock trigger job to the cost of a glock. The Walther is about the same price if not less expensive.

+EthosAtheos Absolutely. Even after modifications the Glocks don't really touch the PPQ in my estimation. The only legitimate criticisms of the PPQ are the sights and the bore axis, and from what I can tell, if you are a good shooter you can mitigate muzzle rise by just using a crush grip. Still, I hope that Walther eventually revises the design in an attempt to improve on near-perfection.

It is more snappy than other guns, still fast but defiantly a wrist whip. The sights are just good enough. You can always replace them with something better. But I haven't even as average as they are. Someday I'll put night sights on mine. Everything should have night sights. I'm sure that Walther had abandoned the paddle mag release. I'm sad because it is my favorite parts of the PPQ. I don't know of many other hand guns that are truly ambi. Because the mag release button isn't on both sides. I also find the paddle to be a lot faster. Not to mention the button shimmy. You know that odd hand wiggle thing that you have to do when you push the mag release button with your thumb. Because you don't have basket baller hands. You shifted your grip and are holding your gun at an angle to the floor. Then you mag doesn't drop free. I have no idea why that annoys me as much as it does. But with the M1 frame it isn't even a thing. I'm sure that in time Walther will evolve the design. The PPQ after all is an evolution of the P99. I also hope they go over to a changeable frame the way Sig has. Hell I'd settle for a paddle mag release and an Apex trigger on a Sig P320. But sadly I fear the paddle isn't something the black plastic hand gun crowd will ever adopt. Maybe when people admit that the 1911 is over 100 years old and there are better options now. People will also admit that the button isn't as good as a well designed paddle like the M1's.

+EthosAtheos You're a man after my own heart. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. I love the paddle. I'm contemplating getting a 5 inch PPQ, and I believe that is now available in the paddle in a 'standard' iteration, but if it isn't, I was thinking about seeing if it's possible to outfit the button release on both sides simultaneously (I'm an ambi shooter) just for kicks. I'm sure I could order another button from Walther. I've also thought about how cool it would be to adapt the PPQ to a 320 style modular design. Then we finally might get the compact version that people have been hoping for since its release. I even went so far to mess around in my CAD program to start trying to develop a steel subframe that would accommodate the trigger bar and sear group in one neat modular package without altering the grip geometry and thickness of the pistol. It's tough, but I think it's possible with maybe a 1/10th inch wider polymer frame. Didn't Walther offer the Q5 slide for sale separately at one point? Btw, this guy has a cool blog featuring the PPQ trigger job and some other customizations: lanzerbot.wordpress.com/2014/06/20/walther-ppq-m2-trigger-job/

Every video talks about how good the Walther PPQ is, some even say it's the Glock killer. Several years later Glock still out sells Walther PPQ and if you were to Google top selling guns in America, Walther PPQ wouldn't even be on the list. Now tell me why is that. I personally love the gun the way it feels in the hand as well as the trigger, much better than the Glock.

I'll tell you EXACTLY why, Glock is CHEAPER, Walther is $100-$150 bucks more because it's a better quality pistol. The trigger alone puts it in a higher class than Glock.

AZ trigger is it better than the CZ p10c?
@AZTrigger
@AZTrigger 7 жыл бұрын
Good question - I have not yet reviewed a CZ p10c ye so I couldn't speak to that. Perhaps somebody else could... The PPQ has been out longer though and many still consider the stock PPQ trigger to be superior to most others in the same price / market. I am one of those people...

+J sav The PPQ has a shorter reset while the P10c has a shorter and somewhat lighter take up. There are some remedial things you can do to improve the take up on the PPQ, namely to do a Glock style trigger job on it by polishing the trigger bar camming surfaces and safety plunger. Here's an article (Obviously not really necessary for anything but target and competition. It's an excellent self-defense trigger) lanzerbot.wordpress.com/2014/06/20/walther-ppq-m2-trigger-job/
