The opening should not hit so hard for the lack of animations. I mean I guess it makes up for it but damn the drop at 2:12 and then the animation is just zzzzzzzzz. I mean I guess, for fanservice purpose as in, made for the fans. It's good enough. 3:23 this clip is very good. The rise of the track combined with Enterprise's running fits together very well.

Well, kinda hard to *truly* follow the mobile game when the story hasn't even been finished yet (if it even will), and due to it being unfinished, you'd run into the risk of later story updates contradicting what you put into the anime anyway...might as well make up your own story pulling from bits and pieces of the lore that the game had already revealed.
