I love the set of skins we got but honestly the biggest bummer for me is that ting-an skin not being L2D. Because its the most explosive skin for me basing on the design and the first impression it left on me (i was in awe with the overall design😳) added with the context and scenarios it brings. I would only imagine how much more it being a L2D would further elevate its already bold and amazing concept 😂. I love the collab partner we got since it fits azur lane a lot and i love me some pink-haired girls but i hope they include lala's and momo's mother cuz she also has a great design.

I'm not sure if you pay attention to other gachas, but AL has a smaller player base compared to some (which is expected with how old it is). I was just wondering if it seems to be doing well in terms of player count and revenue in your opinion, since I don't know enough to judge if it's been doing successful. Regardless I plan to enjoy it for as long as it is around. Thanks for your time!

Wow, thank you so much for the superchat support! That means a lot, and it’s much appreciated. (°ω° ) ~♪ As for the revenue/player count, it's a great question that warrants a full, nuanced answer, and one that I've considered making a video about. At the end of the day, there are a few things to consider while reviewing gacha revenue numbers. 1) Revenue doesn't account for development cost, and therefore is not an indicator of profit. We don't know the budgets for these games, and it's difficult to really have a solid idea of how they're doing in line with their spend. 2) Licensing costs - similar to the above, but big anime IP-based gacha games tend to have higher associated costs and restrictions placed on them. They’re more at the mercy of the propertyholder, and have to pay for renewing the license. This isn’t a cost for standalone IPs like Azur Lane. 3) The revenue numbers we have are rough projections at best, and straight up guesses at worst in the case of CN. And considering how enormous the CN market is, that’s a big gap. 4) Alternative revenue streams such as collaborations, merchandise, licensing, anime aren’t included. This is something that Azur Lane excels at moreso than most, and I'm sure a big part of the money coming in is from merchandise. 5) Doesn't count PC sales - which isn't relevant for Azur Lane, but still something to keep in mind. 6) Publisher power and influence - even if a game is doing reasonably well, a publisher can pull the plug due to finding opportunity cost elsewhere. The decision to keep a game going is not always purely financial. Some games have been around forever despite very low numbers, and some games get an EOS even while looking good on the surface. That’s all to say that we often have less than half the picture of how a game is actually performing. With that out of the way, I do think Azur Lane seems to be doing well enough, especially in EN. The numbers have dropped from the heyday craziness and peak of AL popularity, but not where I’m overly concerned. I’d like for them to make some greater strides in recapturing more of the JP market. The game still brings in numbers, especially for the f2p friendly model they adopted at the start. Several million per month is solid. I'd love the player base and community to continue growing. I feel like if they released a PC version, that would open the door to a wider playerbase, along with all the new game modes they’ve been teasing. With some additional marketing of the new modes, that might go a long way to expanding in those areas and globally.

Honestly, as exciting as it is to have Amagi UR finally realized, I'm slightly disappointed that Amagi UR wasn't a retrofit since we know now she isn't the Unryuu Class rebuild, but a what-if if Amagi was converted to a Carrier off a Battle Cruiser Should've had a second UR like a few recent events have set precedent, that would've blown everyone truly away. That being said the swimsuit party plethora of skins is a sight to behold and definitely makes my wallet cry out once more And the To-Love Ru collab later this year will definitely be some ecchi-ful fun to have

You can't retrofit a battlecruiser to an aircraft carrier in Azur Lane. They're totally different hull types and roles which doesn't make sense. This is like Kaga and Kaga BB scenario where they're technically the same persona but are different units. Not to mention most if not all her skills have to be changed to fit her carrier build and retrofits don't work that way here. The most in change of hull type are CL to CA like Mogami and BB to BBV like Fusou and Yamashiro.

I appreciate the rundown! I think it's interesting that Amagi is Amagi-class and not Unryu-class; if it had happened in real life then Kaga would've been scrapped instead of converted, so the current story makes more sense this way. And it leaves room for an Amagi (CV) II, though I'm not sure anyone would want that over the other possibilities. Either way, Amagi (CV) isn't going to be able to share skins if Kaga (BB) is a precedent. That makes it an easier decision to buy the new one. I'm just worried that the preview had her moving around a lot, which imo is a weakness of a lot of the L2Ds. I do wish they'd ease off on the purple destroyers. I'm running low on non-collab backliners to level up - give us more old battleships, light/escort carriers, or even repair ships. Escort carriers would be nice since we spend so much time farming 12-4, and there were a decent number of them in real life. Hiei META's horns look off, but I'm really happy to see the Kongous get some love recently. I wonder if Kongou's buff to Kongou-class ships will apply to her. That'd be fun. I hope Kirishima shows up soon, she helped me out a lot early on and her Summer Audacity skin was the first that I bought.

Nice to see Hatsuzuki's L2D was popular too, that was my favourite skin last year. And holy shit, that Kashino skin. NEED. And man, To-Love Ru is the next crossover event? For anyone disappointed that we didn’t get Yamato, here’s a rule of thumb to avoid future disappointment: if they start heavily name-dropping a ship in the story, you can be sure that we will *NOT* be getting that ship. Manjuu adores their bait-and-switch. Soyuz was name-dropped since Rossiya’s event, back in like what? 2019? 2020 maybe? and we only just got her this year. Alaska was name-dropped through ‘22 and ‘23 only for us to get…her sister Guam. Then there’s Iowa who gets name-dropped by the EU every so often. Oh, and I can’t forget Yorktown META. I’m pretty sure there’s more examples that I’m not remembering at the moment. Keep this in mind, and you can avoid future disappointment. Then when Yamato eventually does drop, you can take it as a happy surprise. Those skins look awesome! Thankfully, I already have Shinano’s and New Jersey’s. My top interests are Amagi’s, Unzen’s, and of course my best girl Musashi.

I think that generally it's a bad idea to put too much hope and weight into a single unconfirmed reveal. It's an easy way to ignore all the good and positive developments and ruin your day. We all know that Yamato will come eventually, but putting all the emotional wish into that single event has a greater chance in leading to frustration than happiness. Tons of amazing skins indeed! There’s so much to take away from this anniversary! I’m extremely happy with Amagi, her art with Phoenix is perfect. Her outfit kind of reminds me of Mainz’s and Takao META’s a little bit though. High praise for the love shown to older ships, Belfast, Sirius, and Ryūjō, AL now has two "flashers", Bismarck’s oath skin is lovely and Kashino has three skins available for sale this event (what a cash cow, lol) I didn’t expect the collab will be with To LOVE-Ru, but YES, give me Darkness and Kotegawa! Overall, it’s been a pretty W anniversary, it would’ve been perfect if they gave two URs. The anniversary PV is so good, I really hope they make another anime that’s more action-based. Huan Ch'ang was a bit of a dark horse valentine, but she's great! Her outfit does bear similarity to Takao META, for sure. I like the naval officer look with just the slices of traditional Japanese influence. So many gorgeous skins! To-Love Ru was the ecchi anime back in the day. Feels like it set the stage for a lot of other titles to follow! I'll always welcome more Tempesta too - I think they're so fun!

They teased us Yamato SO MUCH in the previous events that having her not appearing again when Sakura Empire is literally IN FLAMES is such a kick in the lower half for me lol. Forget Shinano constantly sleeping, Yamato is probably the laziest of the sisters!! Jokes aside, I'll take Bismark's oath, thank you. Now if only they give us Shimakaze's and Shinano's already... I'll gladly take the hit on the storage space but I hope they're not launching the 3D dorm with only Sirius. Or at least, not space the update way too far apart for new characters. Navigator really do tickle my inner Sensei though. 💢 If the separation of event stages means that I do not need to wait 24 hours before the hardest stages to open then I'm 100% on board. Hahah, yeah, I think they're saving Yamato for something huge. That's the way it's feeling. So far, we've only seen Sirius from the 3D dorm. I do hope they have some more surprises waiting for us with more ships. Or at the very least, once they finetune the actual mode, the shipgirl releases may come quicker than anticipated. To Love Ru is a classic legendary ecchi anime. It kinda crossed lines in a lot of ways that is a little more commonplace now.

As much as I'm hyped for any Sakura Empire event, this one leaves me feeling more mixed rather than fully enthusiastic and with some questions too. Here's my personal listed summary : 1) Brunette in event [+] 2) Amagi CV (first interwar ship of UR rarity; what then of Amagi of Unryuu class though?) [+] 3) Name of new CL (I have long yet incomplete list of rivers in Japan with 600+ entries and this wasn't on it!) [+] 4) Addition of cancelled Sendai ship (though, there's still Tenryuu, Kuma and Ooyodo class CL kansens yet to be introduced) [+/-] 5) Ayase missing fox fluff of her sisters [+/-] 6) Maryland retro (Mutsu would be better candidate for this event; best one could've been Nagato, but got denied by Eldridge retro in earlier event) [+/-] 7) 1 UR kansen (starting double UR events and giving us only one for anniversary event?!; there's no lack of UR candidates) [--] 8) No new gear (plenty of candidates obviously) [--] 9) Placeholder name for Watarase's class (hope they fix this) [--] I hope that we won't have to wait for Yamato too long and for Yostar to not add her only when the game is at the end of its lifespan, just to squeeze just a little more $$. Other than that, despite plenty of content, no doubt in general, I would still like to see major events with a rooster of 6 kansens, especially the one's with UR.

I have a feeling Yamato will be for the 10th anniversary, as for Kuma class, I believe at least Kitakami with be of UR quality so they are saving her for that. And yes, I to am mixed about this event. We basically got two "skins" for Amagi and Hiei, this anniversary, instead of getting new characters, don't like duplicate ships, even though they change classes, and I don't like META ships being in the event.

There's no lack of UR candidates, but there's definitely a lack of UR Bulins. We only get 1.75 UR Bulins per month if you max out the prototype core and the cruise pass. I'd much rather have them space away the double UR events so I don't have yet another bottleneck to worry about. Of course another solution is to add another source for the bulins but that would only mean more grind. There's also newcomers who would appreciate not having to spend their few resources on too many new URs and raise their Shinano and NJ in peace of mind. On the other hand, besides increasing monthly specialized core gains, they could make UR bullins cheaper too. It's unfortunate that Yostar didn't set precedent for double UR for anniversary event. I was so excited about the amusement park theme. the Zuihou and Mutsuki gave me such hope because they were so adorable and different. and then.... yeah. well. at any rate. I"ll have a lot of dock space now. what with the older skins not really fitting in the new UI scheme (or showing that they never really had a full background/spread) - and the new skins just being overly erotic for me - i'll just be satisified with my cruise pass skin which is almost always nice and dock space. thanks for the coverage though, GE. i appreciate it.. i am actually really excited for Amagi-CV. [Just a reminder to SKKs. Amagi CV will NOT be able to wear skins at all with Amagi BC. (unless they do some incredible mumbo jumbo. this should be like Kaga BB who has no skins and Kaga CV who does)

I believe they did mention the were aware of the older skins having issues with the background with the new UI, and I think it's on their list of things to address. I think it came from a CN note, so hopefully they do fix it over time. Thanks for watching! The one skin for Suzunami seems tame and cute. A good note about the Amagi-CV skins.

Watarase's weapon is called a nagamaki in case you're wondering. It's basically a blade of a katana with a very long hilt.

Actually looking closer at her weapon, it's not really a nagamaki but rather nodachi/oodachi. Quite long at that. From what I have read hilts and blade in nagamaki are mostly of same or similar length. Polearm with a katana blade is naginata.

It looks like a really fun time on location! I wish there were more segments just walking around and checking everything out! NJ, Cleveland, and Bremerton racequeens even! If we do get racequeen skins for them, I'm sure they'll be redesigned, but they do look good nonetheless! Yeah, I think they're working on the CN QOL stuff. They usually don't repeat the new developments with each anniversary, oddly enough. I guess they assume that everyone on each server knows what was revealed for the other servers. Overall dissapointing. No fate sim. Amagi II looks BAD, worse than Amagi I. No storyline during missions is NOT an improvement. Little QoL or future coming. Atleast To-Love Ru is great. Might pick some skins or wait for collab. More when I watch later this evening. But am dissapointed

I quite like Amagi CV's design, though I'm sorry to hear you don't like it. I like the split of story and missions because I usually never have time to watch the story on day 1, so I like being able to blitz through the stage clears for farming, then go back to the story at leisure. There could have been more of a shakeup in the QOL space, for sure.

They already mentioned a lot QoL from the CN anniversary and there's no point adding a lot more in such a short timespan. It's your loss if the content for this event doesn't meet your standards.
