I was in the UK last month and all you do is phone 1111 give them a National health number answer some questions about whats wrong and they give you a prescription. It's seamless. There are a ton of changes needed and we are so far behind. Why do we have regional and provincial health authorities? We need one National authority and less overpaid administrators. Allow private pay as well like they do in other countries and provinces. The medical system is failing badly here.

One thing that the healthcare system could do to relieve the stress on its system is... Give advice on preventative healthcare. Diet/nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes, and reduce reliance on medication. This would however require physical exams, complete health history's, and a diagnosis which all takes time that sadly is more than the 5 minutes slotted for patients :/

I'd rather be prescribed medications from the pharmacists that thoroughly understand drugs and their interactions. This is a win in my eyes. Now, we need to make sure our paramedics are being fairly compensated. They have one of the toughest jobs out there.

@@kjwbr7745 Googling is definitely a step toward safe consumption of mixed medications. I would rather know they were safe to take together before the prescription is even written, though. If a standard GP writes for one and the interactions are unsafe, it's all well and fine to not mix them, but we'd still need to go back to get a new prescription. Just another waste of time and resources all around.

I think this is not good and we should probably let all of those health care workers have their jobs back after being fired during covid. The government has the responsibility to incentivize health care workers to work because they owe us Healthcare.... Maybe we should open up more seats for DR school at UBC
