I thought Axum, the symbol of Ethiopianism was in tigray...they are the original Ethiopians trust me...if Ethiopia disintegrates, which i do not wish, the name Ethiopia will remain with Tigray

My personal reflection of the new PM inaugural speech. It has made me believe real change is coming for the better: His speech is quite different both in style, tone and content than the usual public address of his two predecessors. His speech was more passionate, humble and inclusive. He has made crystal clear that his government in the past failed to use the opportunity to address the political, social and economic problems that ultimately lead to the political turmoil which caused the loss of many lives and considerable damage on the public and private property. He stressed that the government could have done better to avoid the loss of lives of many (including youngsters) and the damage of the properties. He humbly requested for the public to forgive his government for the mistakes committed. This clearly shows about taking responsibility as a government and a lesson for many that government should be accountable for any action it takes. Hope many will learn from this fact. One thing which I find more interesting in his speech is the way that he addressed the political opponents both at home and abroad that resort all kind of means to challenge the regime. He considers all political dissent as good citizens who seek for the betterment of their nation in their own right and stressed that having different political view shouldn’t be a reason for categorical hate. This statement seems to me a new outlook that never been the case in the previous administration. I presume his speech makes a hallmark to the commitment of the new head of state for paving the way for better democratization process and addressing good governance problem, corruption and the rule of law. As “action speaks louder than words”, I hope he will focus on deliverable which actually bring about the desired change. The speech was very persuasive, but far from rhetoric. I was able to sense its sincerity and that it was coming out of a genuine heart. Ultimately it is the action not his words that defines the man. I pray that God gives the PM all the grace, wisdom and strength to fulfill his promises and to discharge the responsibility of his office. God bless Ethiopia!
Dr. Abiy hold the slogan of " United States of Ethiopia!!" He sets the standard of making sense and do the due deligence before he gets the stage for public, listened to the soul of the nation in a timely manner. We all have different qualities even as a party. Some talk, some work hard but don't know how to present, some are great in humanity. Let's combine it and move on to the next step.
