I really loved the applause the audience gave him. It was so respectful of them. He really deserves this. Shows how much of an icon he is.

David Bowie is the most awesome person ever! I agree he is very seductive, more than I thought (figured it didn't go past Labyrinth! lol). He's got gorgeous eyes, a gorgeous voice (both singing and speaking...love his accent!), and just a great personality and sense of humor! I refuse to believe he will ever die! He'll always be around to those who believe in him! :)

I'm sure that most of you have probably seen this live performance of 'Everyone Says Hi' from Berlin in 2002. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q56TZp-Ar713Ztk And it's been seven years since Bowie's death. And as I wrote just now in the comment I left upon the above video, for some reason his death day this year has been almost as painful for me as it was in 2016. But I'm beginning to try not to sob my way through the entire Berlin 2002 live performance of 'Everyone Says Hi' and to experience the profound joy he was so poignantly manifesting and graciously sharing with all of us. Even though his passing will never stop tearing me up inside. At least I can try to remember his brilliant wit, his adorable humor and how very grateful I am to have been alive at the same time on this Earth as he was. Here's to hoping that wherever he is it is wondrous and glorious and entirely worthy of his once-in-an-eon sublime beauty and his unforgettable magnificence and his precious humanity.

Reeves Gabrels, Bowie's guitarist, claims that it was about him but it seems to suggest that the person to whom everyone is saying hi, has sailed away, and bearing in mind that it was released on the 16th of September, the anniversary of his death, I guess (as was intimated elsehwere) that it is for Marc Bolan.
